Uncharted 2. The multiplayer was fun, but the game didn't need it. I would rather the developers spend more time with the singleplayer. The singleplayer was top notch, but it could have been more amazing without resources spent on multiplayer.

You can only add so much to a campaign before it over stays its welcome. If you want to spend 60$ on a 10 hour single player experiance, thats fine with me. I'd rather have a complete package.

Every game can benefit from some form of online addition but as far as multiplayer is confirmed I am indifferent. As long as devs can do justice to the SP I don't mind if they add online play. I remember in 2009 many people including me thought the addition of multiplayer in Uncharted would have a bad effect on the story but look how that turned out. So just to reiterate I don't mind co-op and MP as long as it's separate from SP and doesn't hold it back. For example I would have no problem with Sony adding MP into God of War as long as they can guarantee the SP/story and gameplay will be as EPIC as ever.

Bioshock 2 didn't need multiplayer. It was clear that multiplayer took away from the single player experience. A good majority of people still like the first game better. Resident Evil didn't need multiplayer. It wasn't very helpful. How well was Resident Evil Outbreak and RE Dead Aim again? How is that online community these days? If God of War 4 is multiplayer, I don't understand why it would be multiplayer. I don't think that kind of a game REQUIRES multiplayer. Even though these games aren't even out yet, I have to post them. First is Max Payne 3. I'll admit I'm one of those guys that likes the first two games so much and have not been impressed with the previews of MP3. When I think of Max Payne, I think dark noire comic strip cut outs with bullet time. Multiplayer doesn't even register. I know Rockstar can make some impressive games that are GOTY worthy, but they have to measure up the other two MP games and those games set the bar high for me. Also, they are doing it without the Max Payne writer Sam Lake too. Max Payne was largely story driven. Even though a game has not been made yet, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series do NOT need multiplayer. I love those games as single player experiences only. Multiplayer would ruin the world. I just don't think it'll be helpful. Even though this may happen eventually, I would perfer Mass Effect to remain single player only. I am so so happy ME3 is not multiplayer. It would have ruined the trilogy in my opinion. I understand some games having multiplayer: Halo, COD, GTA, Tekken, Street Fighter, Madden, Mortal Kombat, LBP, etc... However, on the other side, some games just don't need multiplayer to be good. Also, not all first person shooters don't need it. For example: Bioshock, Fallout, Mass Effect. Three of the many examples of games not needing multiplayer.

Should have stayed single player: Metal Gear Solid and GOD of WAR.
