I personally would suggest staying away from Sleeping Dogs. It is a failed version of GTA. Yes, I compared a compelling game to Grand Theft Auto. I have been playing GTA for years and this game tries to throw in some simularies. At first the gameplay is decent. I liked the fact that you could fight and throw individuals into random objects. After a few fights thrown in for good measure, it got extremely repetive and boring.
The only game I have played this generation that has pretty much no value in it is The Blue Toad Murder Files. That game was a pile of crap. I would say stay away from anything that came out for the PS3 between November 2006 and August 2007 besides first party games. Most of those titles are inferior ports or are bad games in general. The only exceptions would be Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1, Ridge Racer 7, and Elder Scrolls 4. I cannot think of any specific games with no value.     Â
It depends on who you are really
for me and my tastes, the games that I played and made me miserable doing so were
-Uncharted 2
-Assassin's Creed II
-Flower
-inFAMOUS Festival of Blood (even though I absolutely love inFAMOUS 1 and 2)
Now before you fly off the handle, I don't buy or generally play games that are panned like Lair or Haze. Those are probably way worse than the four I listed

The games you listed are not bad. You might not have like those games, but they are far from the worst games out there. Lair was not so bad for its time. Once you learn the controls, the game can be a good bit of fun. I would not pick up the game today by any means. There are plenty of other games in the dirt cheap price range that are better than Lair.Â

I have to agree with you. Lair was a good concept. The only thing that made it so un-desirable was the fact that it forced you to use the motion sensor on the controller to control everything. With the individual who posted that Uncharted 2 was a bad game, I would be very interested to know why? I personally loved that game! I thought Uncharted 3 from the series was the worst.
[QUOTE="yokofox33"]don't hate on NISA :'(Every crappy NISA JRPG that gets released and Star Ocean.

I know right :(
Ironically, I was going to say Trinity Universe. Borrowed it from a friend and that game made me want to....just...flip a table. Something about it irritated me.
Duke Nukem forever, it was nothing but a cash grab on nostlgia.
Terminator Salvation, Had to play this for a review, I hated every minute of it
The first Assassins Creed. The series has immproved by miles, just jump into one that isn't so boring as the first.

I really enjoyed sleeping dogs and i actually found the gameplay alot better than any GTA game there is, GTA hasn't been fun since san andreas. I mean whats the difference between gameplay. GTA you run and shoot a gun, Sleeping Dogs you run and have many different combo's to kick and punch people :S o and the driving is alot better than GTA4. and the story is enjoyable so are the side missions.Â
These are the worst games I've played on the PS3. Â I'm not listing the Call of Duty games since I'm biased to the whole series and to FPS games in general since I hate FPS games.

I personally had a lot of issues using the vehicle mechanics in Sleeping Dogs. At first the fighting combos were cool, which I will admit THAT was made it different than GTA. I have been playing GTA since GTA3 and have always enjoyed the experience. I remember spending hours just flying around GTA4 exploring and doing whatever I could to get the National Guard to come after me. I suppose we have to agree to disagree.
People who bag on "LAIR" are parroting reviews from 2007 without bothering to play it themselves, and they're idiots. The controls were patched, you don't have to use the 6-Axis controls. The game is just fine. Stop living through other people's words from 6 years ago.
"Alone in the Dark: Inferno" was a solid Horror game, so people who bag on that game are also probably parroting reviews of the 360 version (a total scrotum-crust), and assuming the PS3 version was exactly the same... Which it wasn't. They revamped the controls, and tightened up a good percentage of the game before issuing it on the PS3.
Most of the posts on this thread are simply taste-oriented responses, you won't find a lot of FACT here, which makes it a complete waste of time and space,
Wake up, gamers.

Lair had other problems besides the controls. The gameplay was pretty repetitive throughout all the missions. The difference in shooting fireballs was not explained until after you unlocked commentary from beating levels in the game. Shooting big fireballs was essential for beating the first boss. The cutscenes interrupt the flow of gameplay. It is not like a story driven game where gameplay happens, and then it shifts to a cinematic scene. The targeting system was crap. You could not choose which enemy you wanted to target. The game was ok for its time, but there are plenty of better games this late in the life cycle. I have to agree, Even after the patch there still were plenty of problems. They tended to focus more towards the 6-axis of the game rather than the story because at t he time, it was the biggest thing ever!
Stormrise. It's a console RTS where your units don't follow your orders. Not only is the gameplay terrible, it's an ugly technical mess too. If you have to stay away from any game this gen, it has to be Stormrise.
I had a laugh of two out of "Nukem Forever", and tho the load times are a bit silly and such I didn't find it to be unpleasant - But then, I paid $2 for it...
:P
... Pro'ly made a difference in my perception.
