I loved External Darkness, Max Payne and SSX. SSX and Max Payne getting new games but you just dont know how they will turn out.
Would like to see Hogs of War making a comeback. I still play it now and then on my PS1, it was a lot like Worms but instead it was set around World War I and replaces worms with Pigs.
Good Tenchu games (#2, basically...), good final fantasy games and Resident Evil games that actually involved lots of puzzles and wasn't just a linear shooter. I'd love a remake of the Soul Reaver games. Best story ever! ^^
awesome games there!!! althouhg i thought tenchu 1 and 2 were both amazingGood Tenchu games (#2, basically...), good final fantasy games and Resident Evil games that actually involved lots of puzzles and wasn't just a linear shooter. I'd love a remake of the Soul Reaver games. Best story ever! ^^

Well to be fair I don't remember number one all that well. Two will forever be the best one though, I think. None of the others had the same degree of story, where each character truly is a unique playthrough rather than them all ending up facing and killing the same boss, at different times... *rolls eyes*. Besides, we got to see how Rikimaru got his scar :D

Games I miss from the old days that stay in my head all the time, well lets see. From the PS2 I miss playing socom 1, and socom 2 when I love the heck out of the single player on those 2 games, not only was the SP good, but the online play was even better. It was like a 2nd family online playing socom1, & 2 thats what I miss.
2nd game (series) that comes to mind Metal Gear Solid series. I can admit that this is the only game that I have never in my life been disappointed with. Konami has always made a good metal gear game, still have every mgs game right now including mgs4, and the Japan version as well. Also what made this game more exciting when they came out with the 1st metal gear online (PS2). Very addicting when it 1st came out. All I know is I cant wait for Rising.
From the PS1 I use to play alot of as a teen growing up was Spyro the dragon series. This game was fun when it first came out, also I miss the old school Smackdown (not vs raw). I was the happiest dude on the earth when I got this for my birthday. First 2 Smackdown's were really good I enjoy making up my own pay per view events, and making my own matches, getting rated for those matches and the event to see if it was at least in the top 5. I would always play it before I went to school.
Cant forget NFL gameday 98 best football game ever, and NFL Blitz. I use to love to use the chop in gameday 98 cause every1 cry so much about it.
And last the dreamcast days of sports were fun in early stages, we would have tons and I mean tons of tournaments every weekend playing different sega sports games from NFL 2k, MLB 2k, Tennis 2k, NBA 2k ect... fun it would be 20 people playing and we had 3 sega dreamcasts, so we would have 2 people playing at once on 3 different systems in 3 different rooms, or in the same room with 2 tv's set up in the room :).
But thats pretty much it you guys sorry for the long post but I had to tell my story of fun games, and fun times on those game growing up. And of course I cant forget about Mario and the good ol Nintendo, and Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64. Also WcWvNWO World Tour was good and WWF Warzone.
glad to see carmeggedon on here!!!! a great ps1 game! [QUOTE="elbert_b_23"]tenchu 2 not only is the greatest stealth game made but just awesome. SaGa Frontier, is a great rpg sadly its been on psn in japan for a few years but no word if square will put it on psn in n/a. Suikoden II one of the greatest rpgs from that gen and the only rpg that sucked me into it that on day 1 i put in 15 hours into it suikoden 1 and 2 were amazing RPG's, and still kept their story and characters decency into the ps2 games!!!Tenchu, Destruction Derby, Carmageddon, Splinter Cell, Ico, A good Armored Core game, and Reel Fishing just to name a few off the top of my head.

I really hope that Harvest Moon Back to Nature will be remade on PS3 or even a new harvest moon game :D
Legacy of Kain series and Oddworld. That's for PS.
I miss the dynamic of Quake 1 in todays FPS.Also i would love to see a good Little Big Adventure game.
How old are the days we're talking about?
I don't like jrpgs but I do miss the original Phantasy Star games and would love to see them re-done in a more Borderlands kind of way: huge open world with lots of secrets and loot.
Onimusha, Red Faction (digging walls through the level was cool), Quake, jrpgs (really didn't realize how linear they were until I got older, but a lot of them have a special place in my heart, specifically Phantasy Star 1,2 and 3)
Edit: Didn't read everyone's responses. Good to see others with Quake and Phantasy Star :)
Killer Instinct, a good Mana game, and a good Final Fantasy game: In more recent times, I miss Viewtiful Joe and Shadow Hearts.
i miss j-rpg's, grante di still enjoy tri ace and square games alot and i like the tales serise but if your a tales fan you know exactly whywe dont play much of them.......screw you namco......ok getting off track even though i sitll enjoy these 3 devs games i think just overall quantity of them are lowering significantly, ide be cool with this since we get alot of W-rpg but you know what i refuse to call them rpg's, their shooters where you levle up here and there and NEVER notice the difference, new vegas was the only one thats good........dang it getting off track again. but i miss devs like gamearts(when they used to make games now they are just kinda sitting idle)....ok screw it im just summing this up now, i want mroe games like grandia 2, any of the final fantasy past the first(cept X-2), and xenogears.
Killer Instinct on SNES. Outside that, most of the old games i love have been redone this gen...like 2d mario or DK. 2d platformers are my fav genre and this gen has been the best in years for them.da_chubKiller Instinct nice! Busts out 88 hit ultra combo lol. I miss the puzzles and story of the first 2 resident evils. Also i wish they would do a remake/rehash of colony wars!
Star Wars Battlfront 2. I keep hoping a third one will come out. Those games got me through high school.
I'ts old enough It came out my freshman year of high shcool and I played it for all 3 years of high school. I'm in college now and I still pop it in the tray from time to time.Star wars battlefront 2, not really old days but still...
