Gamespot Reviews.... Seriously?

Street Fighter gets a 9.0, but CODWAW, gets a 8.5? COD:WAW is one the best looking games, and has the most replay value of any game on the PS3. I mean its got Nazi zombies :). So how is a fighting game that has OK graphics get better reviews on here than Call of duty, Fallout 3, Resistance FOM, Rock Band 2 and many more. Im not saying Street fighter doesnt deserve a 9. But if you give SF a 9, cod deserves a 9.5 or above.

Maybe SF4 is better. AAnd the graphics.. well most people would probably say that SF4 is better

you're comparing a FIGHTING game to a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER...

Think about that... Two completely different genres... and think of it like this... World at War got an 8.5 in the genre of FPS, Street Fighter got a 9.0 in the genre of FIGHTING games. Street Fighter is a really great fighting game according to the reviews while World at War is a great fps game.

Other review sites gave SFIV a good score too so it's not Gamespot picking favourites or anything.

And just because it got a lesser score does thatprevent you from buying and enjoying the game? I've never seen someone so pathetic that they let a couple game critics dictate their gaming choices.

as someone who doesn't play cod, i'll say that world at war looked exactly the same as cod4. i'm sure that caused a lower scoreAJC3317

omfg, all fps are the same beasically if you played one of them then your've played them all, codwow ww2 stories has been remade too much, probably why it got the low score, it's kinda like been there done that all over agian.. actually 8.5 ian't low at allriceboyzz

Street Fighter 4 gets nostalgia points. Most game reviewers have been around games since they were little and are nostalgic about the games that brought them into the gaming world the same way that you and me are.

Street Fighter was the HUGE fighting game back when fighting games mattered. There hasn't been a Street Fighter or a game like Street Fighter in a long time, therefore it gets points for being nostalgic.

There have been plenty of games like COD WaW. It's basically COD4 with a paint job; does that make it bad? Hell no, I thought it was awesome. But, since it's similar to lots of games out right now, reviewers dog on it cuz it's not doing anything different.

Moral of the story is, even though Street Fighter isn't different; it was done over ten years ago; it's similar in all the ways that these (and most other) nostalgic, reminiscient, sentimental reviewers want it to be. I think it's a bit hypocritical because it means that game reviewers are never truly objective but one could argue that it's impossible to be objective in what is basically an opinion piece.

It was a very logical review, all Treyarch did was take infinity Wards fantastic engine and just modded it to WW2, it's not worthy of any higher of a score... and seeing as how the user score is only 8.9 and the GS score is 8.5 I believe it's a very accurate rating. Their job isn't about personal opinion, but the quality of the game all together. The only real add-ons to the sequel were the co-op, flamethrower, and WW2 setting. The engine was EXACTLY the same, the gameplay was EXACTLY the same, the Multiplayer was EXACTLY the same. So all in all, it wasn't a better game then CoD 4 because guess what? It didn't add anything exceptionally new as a sequel to the game... now I'm not saying CoD5 wasn't a good game, co-op on campaign was a blast and the multiplayer is somewhat interested (Prefer Modern Warfare more) but the fact remains that Treyarch failed to take a risk with a sequel and just gave us a pretty much expensive modded version of the previous game.

To be honest I honestly get tired of people QQing about how their game wasn't reviewed to their expectations, guess what? You're not the only effing person out there playing games man. And once more, their review came pretty close to the popular vote, which means the review pretty much hit the spot.
