I've cancelled plenty of times and got cash back every single time. I cancelled my copy of ME2 for the PS3 just a month ago, so I know they still give cash. If they tell you otherwise they are feeding you a line of bs.

lol why would they get mad? did you use any credit towards the preorder? Because he works at Gamestop, he has to get mad if I cancel 3 pre-orders :P He asked sort of angrily why I was canceling them and I gave him a real reason (had better deals elsewhere) and after that he literally said nothing to me, just handed me my $20 and I left. They gave me cash back so I just took it to Best Buy and got what I wanted :D
