Gamestop says it's ILLEGAL to buy LBP before the 28th

I, like many other people, have preordered my copy of Littlebigplanet and have been frustrated by the delay that happened so I recently called the Gamestop that I preordered my copy at. As soon as I mentioned Littlebigplanet he told me that he WOULD NOT be selling it before the 28th. He preceded to tell me that companies like Walmart and Target had no respect for sony and their wishes and that it was technically illegal to sell a copy of the game early. What REALLY freaked me out was that he said that if you bought a copy of LBP early, sony had the power to lock down your console. I was confused but he said that sony could put a serial lock on your console if you bought it early and they didn't want you to be playing it early. Give me your thoughts or has this happened to anyone else?

EDIT: Yeah Gamestop left a message on my answering machine saying that they expected to have it today so now I'm even more confused.:?

they lied once a store gets the games it can sale them when ever they wont. why because they bought that stock and that makes it theirs. remember uncharted came out way before the launch date and gamestop and eb were saling the game.

Buahahaha. I love mgsbethatgame sig. I need to find a way to save that piece.

I picked mine up yesterday. The only thing that doesn't work for LBP are the servers, probably not up yet~CTUDude

yea btw wheres co-op and map builder ? i was finding it rite now but all i see is the story mode.I am talking about the main menu where you press square to control the PS3 controller.But theres only "Story" to go to :(.
