yup. march 26th it starts. there is an ad for it in the back of the newest game informer. good thing too. i still need to get heavy rain, infamous, and fallout 3 for my PS3.
Everyone keep in mind it says UP TO 50%. meaning games like GoWIII, FFXIII and more may be only 5 or 10 off, but I am willing to bet you may see 20 off of games like heavy rain, assassins creed 2, and resonance of fate.
just got off the phone with GS and the dude said it would only be on games 1-2 years old. dont know if hes right or not but that is what a GS employee told me

i to just got off the phone with my local gs. seems it will be older titles that will be getting the 50% off. i asked specifficly about gow3 heavy rain and ff13. he told me absolutely not on those titles.
not sayin that he could be wrong, but thats what the mgr at my local gs told me.
still might be able to find some gems though. im gonna stalk my local ones and see what they got for the next week.

Lol he is probably right, but i have encountered some not so bright people in GS...and every other store for that matter lol.
just trade in 2 games off the list and get 40 bucks off, that sounds good to me (FFXIII / GOW3). i just cant part ways with the ones on that list yet, closest one out the door is infamous and i just dont feel i got my money's worth out of it yet hah. plus if they make a 2 i know ill just get it again, i like having all the games in a series.

I saw that and was excited but unfortunately I don't have 2 I would get rid of. I have Eternal Sonata that is ok to me and I would trade in, but

are to precious to me lol, especially uncharted :P. I also don't like to ever get rid of a game if I love it. I wish my copy of ninja gaiden sigma had a frikkin 2 after it!

You're not going to find brand new releases for 50% off people. You're probably not even going to find new releases for 5% off. This is Gamestop's way of getting rid of older stock to make room for new stuff. They did this last year, and perhaps the best title they had available was Valkyria Chronicles for 30 bucks. You might find some cool titles in there, but for the most part they will be older releases for UP to 50% off. But hey, it's an awesome way of getting those games you've been wanting for awhile for a big discount. You may find some gems in here.

yeah, they do this every year. there wont be any new games for that sale. only old crap no name stuff or things that you already have. last years best game wasvalkyria chronicles ps3 for 30 bucks.

What he said, except for the 20% off part. I don't see anyway that they would put 20% off on a game that just released and, as far as I know, selling well(Heavy Rain). It'll probably be games that are at least 6 months old like someone else said. You can never expect Gamestop to put such a good deals, even if it's only for a few days. They do sometimes have good deals, though, but the majority of the time it's just games the majority of people wouldn't care about. I'll still check it out to see if there's some good games I can get. Hopefully, I can use other discounts to get it even cheaper because I don't expect anything more than 15% for the best games that are on sale.
well not everything will be 30 bucks it says up to 50% off meaning not everything will be and knowing gamestop itll be a lot more of less than 25% off than anything
I still may check this out even though I know the newest stuff probably won't be on sale. Last year I got the PSP ports of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II for ten bucks each and Persona 3 FES for $15. It's amusing to watch the people who come in the store thinking they can get the latest game releases for 50% then get upset when they can't because they didn't read the ad correctly. You can still find good deals if you look.
I called my local Gamestop and they were too busy to tell any of the PS3 games. Anyone out there know which ones are going to be on sale or where to find out (other than calling Gamestop). I'd hate to make a special trip (20-30 miles) and not be interested in any of them.

I might wait a few days, but don't want to wait too long because some of these games they might end up clearing out the stock at these prices. Disgea 3 Blazblue COD:World at War COD:Modern Warfare (about time it's cheap!!!) I might have to get all 4 of those. Although I'll probably just pick 2 as I have enough games as it is.

the 'trade-in offer' for final fantasy 13 and god of war 3 is the biggest ripoff i've ever seen in my life. if any of u are gonna do that i allready facepalmed just incase

No. There is a specific list of games that are "up to 50% off". Read the list on page 3 of this thread. Those two games are not listed.
The deals really aren't that great, but this is probably the first time the two COD games have been $19.99. But by this point I'm thinking it's more "about time" on those games than a great deal. Still I'll probably pick up at least one of them.

Yeah, the only 2 games that seem like they're worth getting(for me) are Blazblue because I don't have any fighting games, and COD4 because I don't see MW2 going lower than $40 for months. It's hard to choose since Super Street Fighter 4 is coming out in a month and it doesn't cost much more than BlazBlue. At the very least, I could wait for Street Fighter 4 to go down in price(It'll probably be $10-$15 used) and get that since I'm sure I'll like it equally as much. I'll probably get COD4, especially if the GOTY edition is $20, too. I'll probably only get 1 game, unless there are other unannounced games or cheap games that aren't on sale. I have way too many games that I haven't even started yet, so even getting 1 game might be too many. In the end, this is nothing more than Gamestop advertising a clearance.

Virtually all Gamestop 'deals' are ripoffs. Most people are just too ignorant to tell that they could just sell those games to people standing right behind them in line for real cash(and you'd probably get more than what GS would give you pretty easily), and not some stupid trade-in credit. What really baffles me is that people would trade-in/ sell games so soon after they just released. Unless they got these games for extremely cheap prices or as gifts, there's no reason not to just rent them instead.
