[QUOTE="4_Horsemen"][QUOTE="americahellyeah"][QUOTE="4_Horsemen"][QUOTE="americahellyeah"]Weak? I like Sony and Playstation too bud. But to call a Brutal game like Gears weak is just playing spiteful. Try playing multiplayer against other people instead of the campaign. I gave it a shot with a 48 hour trial to Xbox live and was immediatly hooked. So much that I bought a Live subscription just for that specific game. I know that you're a regular author on this forum, Americahellyeah. Because I too was a few months ago. You know what I discovered in the time that I didn't post here? That it's ok to like any game but hate the corporations that publish them.Gears of war was alright, multiplayer was quite lacking though, i mean i could see how some people love it, but it just seemed really weak to me, i also really didn't like how weak all the weapons felt, its like trying to kill someone by shooting straw at them. ( i've played with like 8 different people on co-op, and none of them can ever make it through that one part with the minecarts in one try, does anybody elses friends suck at that part?)
I sincerly doubt the GeOW 3 will come to PS3 but hey thats what they said about DMC4 and the 360, so you never know what could happen, by then the 360 could very well be winding down by then. So its not beyond immpossible.

I wasn't saying the game was weak, even though the actual single player game is hella short, i'm just saying the multiplayer felt weak (i haven't tried it out yet with the infinite respawns, but i'm sure it makes it alot better) and that the weapons just felt inconsistent, i mean alot of them feel like they are basically shooting bb's, i mean everything else in the game is so tough and robust, i just felt the weapons were underpowered. ( but once again that was probably meant to be that way considering the untill the last update you only ever had one life in an online match.)
I don't own a 360 because GeOW is the only game i like on it, and i'm not really into Halo or Forza. i like the games just not the console, and really not the corporation. From what i've seen so far it looks like UT 3 is gonna have both the robust characters and the powerful weapons i'm looking for.
I just don't see how you can say that the weapons are inconsistent and feel like your shooting bbs at times. To be be honest I don't see a game from my beloved Playstation that has guns this intense. Maybe you don't like prototype, concept looking guns. You may dig the sci-fi weapons more. UT3 looks like it will vicious. Regardless if it was coming to the Playstation or not. Dude I hate the microsoft corporation too but I need some next gen games now. Not in 2008Â
I mean that when you shoots NPCs with a weapon they barely react, i mean you are shooting bullets, and if you think of the kinetic energy carried by such an item fired at such a high speed, the reaction of the character just isn't on par. and if you want wicked guns just take a look at the Ratchet and Clank series, or R:FoM, they have great guns which even though there made up, give an appropriate response from what ever or whoever your shooting. I mean i've seen people unload entire clips from the lancer and barely damage there opponent, even when the majority of the bullets hit, and other times i've seen people die from three or four shots. I'm just saying that the weapons seem to not have an appropriate effect on the characters.
Dude you say that the NPCs barely react to being shot. If the NPCs reacted anymore than they already do, then they would be stunned by every shot and killing them would be too easy. The first shot always stuns them. I own Resistance and have noticed that the NPCs show off reaction at the moment of death. Similar to Gears. I can dump a whole clip at a Chimera and he'll continue shooting me back. He'll only show the effect of being shot at the moment of death. The whole time I was dumping on him, the only reaction I saw was blood splattering from him. Which is more gory in Gears. As far as damage goes in Gears. The area of the body you land a shot determines a swift or long outcome. For example if you shoot your chainsaw gun at an opponent's torso. There's a chance you won't even down him. Now try shooting his legs and he'll go down quicker. Shooting at the head will give you a splattered head.
The point I'm trying to make from all of this is that Gears doesn't deserve to be hated just because it's a 360 exclusive. It's a damn fine game. It didn't win Gamespot's game of the year for nothing. Give it an open minded fair chance for a couple of days and you may just get hooked like I did. Cheers
