Mein Got, has this become a train of the tracks...
... As Harvey Corman says in "Blazing Saddles":
"Gentle-men, GENTLE-MEEEEEENNNNNNNNN... Calm Your Sphincters!"
I think the point has been horribly buried, twisted, and mangled beyond recognition, and there should be a return to mutual corners with an agreement to simply disagree.
This is not the end of the world, or the beginning of a new one. It's a GAME. Ferocious attitude like this should be saved for human rights issues, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked...
... Unless they're extremely attractive, of course...
We need some humor, all of us, as to how we view and treat one-another. Just because the game has MP doesn't ASSURE a lame SP. Statistically, it's got an uphill climb. But if it's enjoyable to those who are looking for it, then that should be celebrated. And for those who feel threatened by this, I say just move along.
Anything less is to forget the beauty of forum.

We discuss things here, we don't take it into the street for a knock-down.
Cell & Shang have a right to express themselves, but not at the expense of others on a personal level. I have had good interactions with both of you in the past so I know you are capable of conducting yourselves on a higher level than some of the posts I have read here today.
To be crystal-clear: I am NOT chiding either of you for your conduct thus-far, and a few have even egged it on a bit so defense is an understandable position... I'm simply suggesting that you views can be more eloquently conveyed so that you might get others to see your side of it even though they may not agree.
MP is a touchy issue for some folks, obviously. And I think it's healthy to discuss it, and probably a cathartic exercise for the industry as I'm sure they try to keep a feel on the community pulse for such things through forums like this one (there may even be someone from Santa Monica watching right now)... But we need to maintain a civility in these proceedings.
ALL of us. Even MY dumb azz.:D
I think it's too bad that yet another game has gone MP, but that doesn't stop me from wishing for the best possible outcome. A beloved franchise is carrying on, and that should be good news to all of us regardless of our personal nit-pickings. I remember a time back on the PS2 where they said there was slim-to-no chance of another GoW game ever being made again. This was right after the second game, I believe, before they announced the PSP games (which are phenominal, by the way, for a hand-held or console)... I remember feeling cut off; Truncated. I wasn't finished with Kratos.
Luckily for all of us who love the series, neither were they.
I won't be buying the coming game. But that doesn't hurt me, so in the process, I wish it success and long life...
('Live Long, And Prosper'? Did I REALLY just say that??? Oy, the Geek Genome runs deep in this one...)
But I think we can all take a step back, a deep breath, perhaps some apologies for toes trod on? In the end, we are all gamers - We should support each other's interests, not tear them down just because they don't meet with our own.
Just a thought.
