going to buy a replacment ps3. i have a qustion.

my ps3 is giveing me trouble so i figure when it fully dies "looks to be soon" im going to just buy a replacment ps3 slim instead of spending half as much for sony to fix mine or most likely send me a refurb. my qustion is this. Once i get my new ps3 can i redown load all my psn bought games and DLC add on or am i expected to rebuy them? Also if i get a external HDD does the back up utility save all my DLC games ect? It's all good. It's tied to your account and can redownload it..

HAah i just bought a slim today, and wondering the same things as you... i have my old fat 40gig and i want to transfer my stuff over.... any advice before doing so ?

You can re-download everything free of charge, easily. Just go to your account management, see your download history and start downloading again.

You can do that even if you had 5 spare ps3s.

The limit of download tho is 5. Plus 3 if you re-downloading on your original ps3.

Sony is very generous, especially when you see securom with 3 install limits out there.

Thanks for the replies guys. worse case at least i know i can redown load it all. But does the back up option save the addons and PSN games so i dont have to down load, i have a meh connection speed and redown loading all the stuff would take for ever? i dont care about the save files.
