OK I am buying a PS3 either this week or next and just wanted to get a good HDTV for it to look as good as it can. I saw the Insignia - 26" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV in Best Buy's ad today and was immediately intrigued. They have it for only $379.99 and for someone not looking to spend too much money on himself before Christmas it seems great. I just wanted to know if anyone has it and can tell me if it looks good. I have a 360 and Wii, and now with a PS3 I just want them to look really good.

Despite being expensive , i'd recommend a Bravia 26" or 32" for your money breathing.

Sony Bravia is the best, but also the most expensive

Insignia are cheap and are pretty decent quality, they are the best deal if your on a budget IMO

the best HDTV for anything is a Sony Bravia. My dad went the extra mile and bought an XBR with floating glass. It just makes it look that much cooler8)

wait till black friday! Actually i just got an LG HDTV. IT is awesome! It looks way better than Insignia, Vizio and element and westinghouse and I must say, just as good as SAmsung! and the best part is...its slightly less expensive than the top brands! I got a 37inch for $879 before tax. Insignia 32inch might be going for 550 plus but an LG might be a little more expensive like 650 to 750 but worth it.

I dont know about the lasting quality of Insignia and the like but LG is a trusted brand where i come from

I think a good tv is something you need, you shouldn't go cheap. What's your budget like? That would help to give us some idea. I personally have a 42 inch sharp aquos, and I will never go back to another smaller tv.

Mujumbo: exactly. a tv is used for so many things, you kinda have to go big. im only 15, and i was stuck with a 19" monitor for a year then i upgraded to a 37" vizio, and man i will never go small again.

Vizios are actually fantastic for the money, by far the best of the budget brands. Sony is very very expensive and overpriced for the difference in picture quality. Sharps seem to be a good middle of the road brand, very good picture and cost just about what it should.

If you want to go big you can get like a great 1080P projector for like 1500 - 2000, that's an awesome experience if you havent tried it. playing games on a screen the size of an entire wall is really really fun. Haha.

Look around for reviews, cnet's pretty decent for that, i find them overly critical though with their set reviews. And look for deals around thanksgiving. even after the holidays theres good deals because business is slowing

vizios are amazing. picture quality is so high and detailed its insane. just tweak the picture settings a bit and you yourself a budget lcd with a name brand expensive set picture quality :D i know because i have a 37" vizio, and i compared it to a sharp, and the vizio looked just the same. and i saved 450 bucks!

My 37 inch LG was $879.00. Althought i see it is now 1099.99 at Bbuy

It has a response time of 5ms. To really test response time I suggest you watch a fast sports game like soccer. I watched soccer on a Sanyo that claimed 8ms of response time and i kept on getting dizzy with the ball movements. i think Sanyo lied or something cos i have see some T.Vs with 8ms and not gotten dizzy. So test appropriately

The contrast ratio on the LG i have is 8000:1. Many people consider 1500:1 to be good enought. I see a world of difference. Also when watching non digital channels i get very good reception. The other T.Vs i tried did not give good reception on non HD broadcasts. Goodluck
