I mean the ps3 has been out for a long time. How much time does it have left? Should i just wait till ps4? And also what do you guys suggest the used ps3's that are cheaper but are not slim. Or should i give out the extra cash and buy new slim? Also i know the ps3 has a lot of great games coming out, so is it worth the buy? I have a pc and a wii. Im looking to sell the wii on Ebay. Should i go sell it to gamestop when they have some trade in deal or go for Ebay?

the ps2 had a 10 year lifecycle and i would imagine so will the ps3, its a good time to buy now but in a couple months i bet there will be a 50$ price cut if you want to wait a bit longer and for a slim.

The PS3 hasn't been out that long. The PS3 still has plenty of time left. I think it will have 10 year life cycle but unlike the PS2, the PS3 does a lot of other things like streaming movies, internet, blu-ray player, etc. so it has plenty of value. Do you know how much the PS4 will be in the future? I don't see it being $299 or less. It will probably be over $600. I'm never that game buyer who plunks ridiculous amount of money for the newest system that has some bugs and doesn't have many great games. It takes a little while to build great games. So I say buy a brand new slim PS3 now and don't buy some used ps3 that may have had problems in the past. Don't worry about the future of good games coming out for PS3. You missed like 4 years of great PS3 games that already came out.... Sell the wii on ebay because gamestop will probably give you $20 for it.

I got the slim PS3 around May 2010 so I am getting these great PS3 games for around $5-20. That is the benefit of waiting.

Personally I refuse to drop $300 on ANY gaming system. I love gaming but I work, go to school and have an active social life. I might buy it if I'd actually use it on a regular basis but during the school year even my PS2 gets no love. And I do love my PS2 quite a bit. Who knows perhaps the next generation of Playstation will have PS2 & 1 backward compatibility. Though with PSN releasing many PS1 games for a nominal price over the PSN I highly doubt it. a PS3 costs about half my rent so I'm good for now without one.

I am in the university student changed many jobs and now i am teaching students. To say the truth i am not having time to play on my PS3, but my great appeal of the PS3 is that it still feels hardcore to me and gaming centric along with being a true multimedia hub. I choose my games on PS3 based on franchise which i have played on PS before or reading and watching reviews from sites and YouTube(normal users) about a specific game in my mind.

Well I wouldn't sell anything to gamestop, they tend to rip people off. Only get a PS3 if you really want one and know what games you'll be getting and if it fits your budget. As usual you'll also be getting the best blu-ray player on the market, blah blah blah. Only thing is I heard that the new slims tend to heat up faster, but it shouldn't be a problem if you don't play for hours on end.

ps3 got released Nov 2006 so its been out roughly 4 years going on 5 and the ps3 still has another 5 years easy to its life cycle that Sony has said, and still by another 5 years the ps3 will not have cut down than more than another 50$-100$. Its worth it , u get the blu ray player too so ye u pay basicly 100$ for system and rest is a bluray player if u intended gettin 1 later

I find it odd how you have enough time to play your PSP with all your bunch of games but then you say you don't have enough time or money for a PS3. A PSP is almost $200. A PS3 is $300 and does way more like internet, streaming movies, play blu-ray/dvds and also plays games. Around Black Friday, a PS3 was selling for $300 with $100 credit. Why is a PSP worth your time and money but PS3 isn't? Maybe the PSP is far superior to the PS3 but I doubt it. You don't necessarily need to not have a job, not go to school or have no social life to find use for a PS3. I don't use it everyday. I may not use it for a couple weeks but I still think it is worth the price tag for all of its features.

And yes I loved my PS2 but I played all my games on it and it is very dated now so many people aren't showing any more love to the PS2.
