Goodwill gesture to include a free download, 1 month of PSN+ and Qriocity free

They will. "Free" stuff is only available while you're subscribed to PS+ anyway. You only get to keep the things you bought with a discount. This will be a good way to "advertise" PS+ though. Many people might like it and buy a subscription.

If Sony is giving out a free month of Plus, that either means that the store will be online soon, or all of this compensation will be given in a month; which hopefully they'll find a way to tell the general public so they don't get critizied again for not offering anything.

I wonder what will be given out as free conent and what will be given as free PS+ content. Last Tuesday we were supposed to get Crash Commando.

I'd rather they give me one free download on a new game of my choosing, when I want to. Some may say that is far fetched, but reflecting on how serious this screw-up indeed is, I'll say that is about right. Sony shouldn't try recruting us to psn+, they should kiss our feet or we might just try an xbox next time...that free download better be something sweet and not some old 2d minigame.

Doesn't PS+ allow people free downloads of sega classics like Sonic 1 and 2?? Or was it Sonic Adventure or something where everyone else has to pay like 5 or 10 bucks for it?? If that's the case then that'll be cool to DL some old classics for free.

Well thats nice on sonys part but whats the point of given us more time on ps+ if the store isnt going to be back up untill later this month. We wont beable to download anything so that kinda sucks.

When they mean a fredd download does that mean we can get a choice of a game from the PSN store?.

I'm confused. If the store is offline for a month, but the network will be back soon, would that not essentially make the free month of PS+ useless? You need the store to take advantage of PS+ and the store will not be available for the forseeable future.BrianB0422

You don't know who controls the mlb.tv subscriptions. Maybe, like SOE handles DC Universe subscriptions, it's up to some other company to handle the subscriptions, not Sony specifically. Also, they can't just give everyone $20 credit, including users who haven't purchased anything from PSN. User-specfic stuff like Hulu and mlb.tv subscriptions will be handled by some other entity, obviously.RogueShodown

I don't plan on using Qriocity at all. A month free of PSN+ is pretty cool but I hope they don't hold back because everyone is getting a month free of it.

I've got an answer to both those questions.

1. Qriocity is music and video streaming service that kinda sucks. A lot.

2. If you have a Hulu Plus subscription, then yes. If you don't, you can always try out the trial found on their site.

Hulu already offered me up a credit for the outage without even asking/contacting them. Pretty amazing since I could have still used their service on a computer.
