So I haven't seen anyone talking about GOTY on the PS3 Forums. What do you Guys\Ladies think?
This year I really cant vote yet. Since all of these Developers decided to release at the same time, I haven't had a chance to play everything.

My three favorite games this year are Deus Ex: Human Revolution, L.A. Noire, and Portal 2. Can't decide between those three. I still gotta play Skyrim to which I expect to be added to the list.
The games I have really loved from this year aren't on that list.
:?
But I'm a weird gamer and my picks never line up with these sorts of awards. To me it looks more like a list of which game sold really well, as apposed to which is best. Not that any of those games are bad, mind you. But, they're not MY personal favs. None o' them.

I think "RUSE" is outstanding, I also like "Operation Flashpoint: Red River", and I thought "LA Noire" was pretty nifty (and about as mainstream AAA title as my taste runs).
:)
Again, not saying the games up for vote aren't good games. Just don't have much interest in playing any of them - Well, "Uncharted 3", at some point but honestly, I could live without playing it. Perhaps "Skyrim" after two years or so of patches are finished. But again, I'm not chomping at the bit. And I'm glad CoD isn't up for nomination, even though it's the best campaign the series has produced in years.
:)
Told ya, I'm out on my own limb here.
The best games to come out this year in my opinion are:
1. Skyrim
2. Uncharted 3
3. Batman: Arkham City
4. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
5. Little Big Planet 2
Skyrim

Is the only thing that could have dethroned Portal 2 from my goty list
...
If it had worked.
But it looks like it's the typical broken Bethesda game.
I really need to give Operation Flashpoint a try.

What I like about it, specifically, is the ability to remove all aids and fight under quite realistic conditions. The physics (your shots drop over distance, wind and movement of target affect your accuracy), and an enemy soldier 100m away is a deadly threat, changing weapons or applying bandages takes time), no continue points so if you get dropped, well, it's back to square one... There's a fairly steep learning curve as you figure out the commands for your squad, but finishing a mission is satisfying in a way that no other FPS can muster. There's no "CoD" about it, though you can temper down the difficulty to something akin to it, if you really want to. You can turn on aim assist, you can have a compass HUD which shows you the threats... But if you want to feel like you're up against it with bullets zinging too close, "Flashpoint" definitely delivers.
Play it on 'Hardcore' difficulty!
:D
Skyrim for me, such an addicting game which i'm not and don't think i will ever get bored of playing. Although i haven't played Assassin's Creed: Revelations yet, and the Assassin's Creed games are my favourite series of games, so will have to see.
Duke Nukem Forever should be on there.
Nah, but I would pick Rayman Origins as my favorite game for the year. and on that list I would probably pick Arkham City. still have yet to get Skyward Sword should be getting it sometime this month though. followed by Mass Effect 2( Can't remember if this game came out this year.), L.A. Noire and Battlefield 3.
Dead Island would get my vote. A open world RPG with zombies was something I'd been wanting for a while.
I haven't played Saints Row The Third yet but from what I've heard it's pretty damn amazing, so my vote my change after I play that.
Batman AC was much of the same. Skyrim isn't my thing. MW3 while fun was but more of the same. Driver San Francisco is great but it's just a racing game.
BF3 was a let down. Haven't played Uncharted 3 yet but again, it looks like more of the same.
All sport games are pretty much the same as previous versions.
I would say Mass Effect 2 since it was only released on the PS3 this January, but since it came out on other platforms last year I guess I can't go with it. Therefore, I would have to say Arkham City is the game that deserves it the most. Skyrim is good, but on the PS3 it's just too broken from a technical standpoint to be given GOTY.
Lol, I was just about to create a thread like this in Genral Discussion but figured it would get locked for whatever weird reason.
As good a game Skyrim is, I don't think it should be GOTY with all these bugs in the finshed product. Fanboys will overlook and defend Bethesda saying, 'no game massive as Skyrim will be bug free' but all they are doing is telling devs 'it's ok to release games full of bugs and ptach it up later.'Last gen, most of us played cartridges with no online or DLC fixes and that was that.
Uncharted 3 is cool but clearly a rushed product that focused on set pieces and multiplayer while neglecting the single play campaign. Hopefully, U4 will be a more complete package.
I haven't gotten around to AC Revelations yet since I'm still working on AC2 but I doubt that will win. Skyward Sword is pretty cool and I'm a long time Zelda fan but if that wins, it just proves that people vote biased and being a fan of a series.
So far from what I've seen Arkham City has the best finished product and most enjoyable gameplay and gets my vote. With all that in mind, realistically judging from all the fanboy feedback, I see Skyrim or Uncharted 3 winning.
I haven't played Saints Row The Third yet but from what I've heard it's pretty damn amazing, so my vote my change after I play that.

It depends. If you really liked Saints Row 2, you're going to be really disappointed with Third. Where SR2 was extremely generous with content and rewards, the Third is extremely stingy...it's pretty obvious that much of the content was kacked out to be sold later as DLC. There's even a couple of cutscenes where characters mention things that must have been cut out of the game.
I have to agree with those saying that Skyrim shouldn't be awarded anything because it's so buggy.
Maybe it can get awards for next year after they get it working...if they get it working.
