Wait.... the only other difference is that Kratos' character model has 5X the polygons, and is incredibly detailed. Also it is not done yet. Jeeez

you know, the biggest the screen is, it looks worse, I mean, if you play on a 26 inch HDTV it will look way better than a 50 inch tv. the 50 inch will only look better if you are in a movie hall, but in a normal person room (which doesnt have the size of a damm mall) it will look really bad, since the screen is bigger, and you are watching it from a close distance, you can notice the huge pixels easily, and that's bad

First I'd like to start off by saying that screenshots never justify a games graphical output. Second there's a significant amount of difference. I'm not sure what you're seeing, but I'm seeing a world of difference!

In the case of a game which is in 720p (most of the time I don't know what they said about GoW3) true a game "might" look better on a smaller set, but at normal view distance a 40inch + HDTV oupputting 720p or more is truly impressive to watch and cannot be compared with a game at 480p resolution on a same set.

Which makes GoW3 already much better on a graphical stanpoint than its previous installment. Add better shadows, lighting, surrounding, close up view and superb sound and we'll be in for a real feast

By the "ants" do you mean the jagged edges. God of War 3 also has better lighting, textures, character models, particle effects, and animations..... etc etc

yeah if you play on a30 inch "full hd" tv you wont really notice the difference, it needs to be 40+ to exploit full HD at its full capacity. but still, I hate playing on 46+ screens cuz you watch them so close, it looks horrible, at least for me, looks way better on 26 inch LCD at 1080p

I know what your saying, but you have to admit GOW 3 looks much better than GOW 2. If Santa Monica made GOW 2 such a visual masterpiece on the ps2, then they can do the same thing with GOW 3 on the ps3.

id say theres a noticable difference. of course, now they can add smaller details as well. i remember the gow3 video where kratos rips off some dude's head. it wasnt like popping a champaign cork like in prior gow games. you could see the skin rip. a few tendons gave a last ditch effort to keep the head connected to the body, but those snapped too.

No 26 inch tv supports 1080p, unless your upscaling so your still not view it at 1080p. I own a 27 inch and i run it at 1080p, but its native scan is 720p

You can never go by pictures only. You have to see it in action on a TV or PC screen. Nothing else will do it justice. Besides its NOT finished yet. The backgrounds definitely look way better in GoW3 than on GoW2.

While I agree that the graphics of God of War 3 are far from stunning, I would hardly say they are comparable to their PS2 counterparts. And the photo's you provide to back your claim certainly don't help your argument. But when the God of War 3 screens are stacked up against alot of current competition, they don't hold up.

TC is right. Even MGS3 was not as graphically stunning as most said it was. To me Gears and uncharted are graphically untouched at this time.

GoW3 looks a lot better in motion than GoW2, and GoW3 is still a long ways off, so the graphics will still be improved beyond this, trust me, SCEA Santa Monica never disapoints

yes of course GOW3 looks better in terms of detail, textures, lighting and all that

but overall it's still the same style and almost looks exactly the same

when i first saw the GOW3 debut trailer i really didn't notice it was for PS3, lol

I think what TC is trying to say is, considering how good GOW2's graphics were probably one of if not the best for a PS2 game, GOW3 looks to be far from doing the same on the PS3.Also, it just more or less looks like GOW with better graphics.

The animations aren't drastically different in this game, so most gameplay vids kinda make you feel that you're just watching GOW2 in HD :B The resolution, textures, character models, etc. are much better obviously, but the level design, gameplay mechanics and scale mostly remain the same, atleast from whats been shown so far. And a few effects, like the blood from when Kratos stabs the troll, look pretty half-assed. It almost feels like not enough work is being put into the game considering how much potential it has.

Then again, it's too early to tell. But from what's been shown so far, can't really say I'm impressed :/
