GOW3 and Opical audio?

i was wondering if anyone has there ps3 output threw optical and playing gow....for some reason on every other game like Bad company 2 the sounds comes out from my optical into my ASTRO A40's but GOW3 doesnt....even at the main menu and such i get no sound at all...but i go back to XMB and i get sound.....

i run via optical just fine. check your settings.
