According to the GS Multiplayer Index, in Driving, a lot of people are playing NfS.

i just got nfs yesterday and i love it the online play is fun as well as the career mode.. i think its a better game for online play... but GT will take up more time for single player.

Where's the option for both? That's what I would do because they're two completely different styles of racing games. So different that, IMO, it wouldn't feel redundant to have both of them.

As others have mentioned it's about whether you want to play an arcade driving game or a sim.

I've always loved Gran Turismo, but the half-assed-ness of GT5 Prologue mixed with the long wait for GT5 (proper) left a sour taste in my mouth. Criterion on the other hand, made the best racer of this generation thus far (Burnout Paradise) and I welcome Need for Speed with open arms. Unfotunately, times are tough so I can't buy GT5 right now and it's low scores (for a GT game anyway) have me hesitant to get it before so many other games I'm still interested in getting i.e Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Bioshock (1+2) as well as all the good games coming out in the very near future such as Mass Effect 2, LBP2, Killzone 3, etc etc. Alas, I fear GT5 may just get lost in the shuffle for me and will only be purchased when either a. Gamestop has another BUY 2 GET 1 FREE sale, or there is a price drop. Perhaps both. Need for Speed on the other hand, is being played constantly right now and I am well on my way to Platinum-ing this byatch.

I own both....one feels like an rpg (GT5) the other feels like an action flick (NFS). Both must be owned....but personally I'm enjoying the fun factor in NFS more

Realistic driving games aren't that fun. It's more about arcadey street racing type games :) But yeah GT5 and NFS: Hot Pursuit are different games. One is more arcade. And the other is more for car enthusiasts that like realistic sim racers. GT5 and NFS: Shift however, would be more comparable

I've played both and I recommend Hot Pursuit. It is much more fun and addictive in my opinion. It really depends if you like simulation or arcade racing games though. :D

I have both and haven't been able to put GT5 down. Then again, I'm more about Sim.

They are two VERY different games. GT5 is a simulator and NFS is an arcade racer. Basically all comes down to what kind of racing game you prefer. But If you want good multiplayer, I would recommend NFS. GT5 online is pretty dodgey and frustrating. Although the single player is just amazing on GT5.

I'd say NFS. I would have voted for GT5 but after reading some reviews it's just not all it's cracked up to be. That's not to say it's a bad game, but I think you'd have more fun right now with NFS.

Honestly I wouldn't go by the reviews...I've been playing the game for 3 weeks straight probably over 60 hours and haven't touched everything. How long did the reviewers give it? It has an rpg and rewards system that leaves you wanting one more race. It's a great game.

havnt played gt5 online yet but i have played online with nfs... its pretty fun but not that much variety and i think in the long run it will get old fast...its only got 3 modes hot pursuit (4 cops vs 4 racers) , interceptor (1 cop vs 1 racer) , or standard 8 player racing.. personally i would go with gt5 but.... different strokes for different blokes..

NFS:HP is probably the more fun game - so that's what I recomend that you get...however I'll be picking up GT5 as I prefer sims to arcade racers.

Why the multiplayer? Single player is what;s worth paying for.

Personally I like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit I think it's really fun to play as the cops, but then again I prefer Arcade racing to Simulation and I totally lost interest in Gran Turismo. I think Hot Pursuit has one of the best features Autolog it's addictive that feature alone always gets me to replay the track again to get the best time.
