that'd be sick, but they have to do it well or else after the first lap your at the maximum damage point where nothing can hurt, and they'll have to make the steering a little biit easier

Yeah, I'm really glad they're going to implement this in Prologue. I'm not really sure I'll pick up Prologue, but the fact that Polyphony claimed it would be included a while back led to big disappointments. This will go a long way in rectifying that, and could do a lot for GT5's release if the damage modeling in Prologue is of a high quality.

No they don't have to make the steering a little easier, you need to drive better. And if you drive well, you shouldn't have a scratch on your car.

i hope damage is so realistic that a 60mph crash into a wall will take your car out, this obsesion with car damage is really just sad.

wanna crash your car play burnout wanna drive play GT5.

Damage only works if it is put in properly. This could make the game amazing or it could just make a good game suck. I would like to see a car that gets totalled actually be knocked out of the race just like a blown engine would. Being able to still race with a car that just looks crashed, would just be totally gay

Well, that's the pitfalls of realism... damage modeling would result in a more realistic experience, but to maintain that realism, it would have to affect your ability to race. Though I imagine it would be more like Forza 2 where you'd get a number of times into other cars or into the sidewall before you couldn't race anymore... but the main difference in Forza is that they took it off the points you got at the end of the race to fix your car. But I think going 80mph and slamming into a wall and having the car just stop and not be damaged is really unrealistic and takes me out of the experience quite a bit.

the damage in forza was awful, id prefer time pentalys etc over some crapy unrealistic damage system.

I like how everyone automatically assumes that having a damage model means that the driving will be effected. Whereas the damage is being added as a patch, I'll bet you that it's cosmetic damage only & won't effect the actual driving.

Thank you! They need to add an optional "arcade steering" or something to make the game control better. I realize that they are going for a realistic direction in the game, but I can barely turn corners.

Yeah I agree. I like the realistic type of steering, it actually adds challenge to a racing game. This way you can't hold down the accelator the whole time, you actually use the break.

But that's good that there will be damage, even the best spin out once and a while - it would be satisfying to really crash up your car. And I hope this isn't the focus, but just a nice addition. Definitly better than bouncing off walls.

If you can barely turn corners then don't buy this game and stick to arcade racers like Burnout, NFS, and Midnight Club. Or learn how to actually drive properly through various techniques for takign corners (such as trail braking).

Then i hope you aren't old enought to drive a real car. This gives me reason to dust of the DFP!!!
