Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart are better than GT, but GT is superior than all of the "realistic" car games out there; although I do like the car damage in Forza and can't wait till GT finally implements it.

I hate gran turismo :-\... i prefer anything that involves nitrous, drifting or anything along those lines, i even prefer the CARS video game over gran turismo lol.... Gran turismo is too realistic for me and that takes away from the fun imo

yes its very realistic, which i personally love, but it has one fatal mistake in its realism, the lack of damage and crashes, that takes all the realism and throws it right out the window, i dont care how good the car handles, drivers make mistakes and they pay the price, but in GT that price is a sec worth of slower speed and then your right back in the lead, whats real about that?
id take a minute of forza 2 at $1,000 over a lifetime of free GT-DirtySanchez-

Damage is going to be in GT5. GT stays king and will continue to stay king
Motor GP 08 is the game am playing at the moment and its a great game. The bikes have great handling, the game feel alot faster and more existing than GT, the graphics are great andit has some of the best online racing.
I like Forza for the depth of the crash damage and gameplay option. If you play this game you have to play with control as the car damaged is far more than just cosmetic.
I would go with Burnout for the crazy but fun racing game.
If it wouldnt of been for GT i would of never met one of my fav. cousins, dude came right from the dominican republic, bought gt and brought it over and we instantly became hangout buds...to GT i owe it all...he moved to washington state so i havent grazed gt since like 3...but this one has caught my eye...its definately better then other SIMS* not to be compared to arcady drivers...
I take GT over any other racing game, it has a good pace, a lot of things to do, lots of cars, it doesnt have nitro (i dont know why people cares so much about this, its so overrated and its always implemented in a very unrealistic fashion...)

Actually it does have nitro, but its used as in real life, not as in fast and blurry like
GT is good in it's own way, meaning as a driving simulator it delivers completely, but as a fun racing game it falls short compared to Burnout. I play games for fun by the way.

ive played GT and Forza .. ya GT doesnt have that crash nonsense, so what .. ive crashed into walls going 100 inForza and the car still ran.. is that realistic ? NO SIR.. i like Forza but GT is better, i dont wanna see my ride F***** up anyway
There really aren't any console racing sims that can compete with Gran Turismo series. I wrote sims, there are other racing games that don't go for realism like Gothams, Mario Karts, Colin McRaes (RIP), Chocobo Racing etc. that are good games but aren't competing with GT. It's kinda stupid to compare any other console racing game to GT, I mean xbots are gonna say Forza and Nintedofans are gonna say Mario Kart, of which neither is as realistic as GT but great games indeed. GT really doesn't have any competition on consoles since Forzas are nowhere near as good as GTs.
I don't know.... If it's GT against any ONE of "all the rest" I would go GT. BUT if it's GT against every racing game combined I would have to go with the every racing game for the variety
Gran Turismo isn't really a racing game, it's a car simulation. It's not primarily about driving fast and winning races but about experiencing those cars. The care that goes into the car models of GT and how each one handles differently on the track reflects that love for cars.
At the same time, I wish Polyphony would take a peek at the competition and flesh out the racing aspects a bit, because other franchises do some things a lot better than GT.
I love the GT series, but I have had a lot more fun than I ever did with GT on MOTORSTORM. Yes, that's right. I have never played a racing game with such brutal AI. If MarioCart is a worthy comparison then I think MOtorStorm is worth mentioning. Although compared to any other realistic racing sim or even a NFSlike game, I would definitely take GT.

I had been enjoying GT from the first release, I can't really find any other game on the market that allows me to enjoy driving cars as much as this series do.
Personally, I don't believe GT5 needs damage, but that's up to Mr. Yamauchi. 8)
