GTA IV "cannot connect to gamr provider" error?

i haven't posted on the GS forums in forever, so if there is already a thread about this, just tell me, thanks

I tried getting on GTA IV yesterday for a quick deathmatch and i got "connecting to game provider...". i only see this when i'm not logged in and i log in from GTA IV. this time I was logged in when i started the game up, i got this message then after a bit i got "cannot connect to game provider, please try again later." weird, alright. I just thought it was a problem with me, but later on me and a couple friends wanted to play IV but every single one of us got the same error. i'm sure it's not me anymore lol.

is anyone else getting this problem? if so, are the GTA IV servers down or something?

I posted the same thing before I noticed your post. I have the same problem. I live in England and I wonder if it's a fault only in the British Isles only. For the record, don't touch your settings in your PS3 or your router settings because as you know now, you're not alone on this.I've had some some my friends on-line saying they have the same and when I asked others they said they have the same. I can log onto the internet with my PS3 but GTA 4 Multi-player is broken and it has been since Friday.

i used to get that alot. I have not been playing online for a while, i wanted to gain more trophies. If many people are getting this problem, then i dont think its your connection, i think its prob the game it self. Many people, or prob everyone gets cut off the same Multiplayer game all the time, Bomb da Base i believe its called, everyone gets so far and bam, everyone gets kicked off at the same point. My mates get it, i get it, everyone on my Friends list gets it...now im wondering how anyone will ever get the Platinum trophy for GTA4 if that level keeps playing up >:(

I live in the usa and I having this problem too, bunch of my friends are also.
