Hasn't Sony always started out sluggish, but found it's pace down the road?

Playstation and playstation 2 seemed to have a better start off.

I love my PS3 and I honestly believe the biggest problem this console has is its price. Its obvious. Most people could not afford $600 + tax, plus games. Your looking at nearly a grand.

Now that anyone can buy a new PS3 for $400, its making it a lot easier for consumers to buy the PS3.

HERE'S WHAT SONY NEEDS TO DO:

The 40GB console is fine, but they need to fix the 80GB console.

Bundle the 80GB console with Resistance Fall of Man and a copy of Spiderman 3 Blu-ray.

This will help Sony sell tremendously. Motorstorm is a horrible game and people complain about the lack of Spiderman 3 in the other console.

If Sony would do that, they would have beaten 360 this Holiday season. :)

not really. the original Playstation started out strong outselling Saturn by alot despite being released a few months later. PS2's launch was "sluggish" in terms of games during the first year, but was selling very well because of the DVD movie playback feature. PS3 is starting to sell alot now but still being outsold by the 360.nerdman60

PS3 is being outsold in north america but in Japan it far outsells the 360 (almost 5 to 1 ratio) and is outselling the 360 in Europe and other territories. Now that 360 has released its biggest game (halo) i see things going down for 360 and up for the PS3. PS3 still has a few major games to come with Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and God of War. But what huge games does Microsoft have next year? Fable is great but its not a system seller, and who knows when Gears of War 2 is coming out. Also as prices continue to come down for all consoles the PS3 will look like the better deal with HD movie playing and Wifi built right in.

BTW the PS2's first year was not good, they had serious supply shortages and the only good game was SSX (anyone remember the Bouncer? yeah i thought so.... I bought one in february of 2001 and it was a major hassle to find one. I remember reading some where that 60% of the PSone's units sold came AFTER the PS2 was released too. Most of my friends didnt get a ps2 until 2 or 3 years after it launched.

Yep,, and I had SSX on launch "No bs" I was their for the PS2 launch. Me and two of my buddies playing SSX for like a few days strait "And it did have madden also" Not thats thats saying much. But besides that, nothing much else. The system was dry for like a year plus after. Then it went off around the middle of year two, and exploded! I also was at the N64 launch, and Halo 2 one? "Dont askm but I had the SE version. Traded it in for "I think" MGS3 of all games. Love those over night "or midnight" hangouts. But I got to get ready to work, so you all have fun playing with your little Wiis :P Or letting some female play with them. And PS3s. :)
