Have you changed your mind on purchasing BF3 after playing the beta?

Exactly. From what I'm seeing the consol versions are doing pretty good. The biggest mistake is comparing PC with Consol. PC's will always prevail but dont forget that not all PC players can run BF3 on High or Ultra Settings. Only then they can actually enjoy the game. $$ is a factor in this.

The beta was pretty ok. It has made me think about getting BF3. Never played any of the other games in the series, so if I do I might just buy it next year.

I only paid £18.99 for the pre order but currently will probs sell it on at profit, the beta was a let down, yes i know it was a beta but weirdly it was given as an old build so they said oh we don't need your feedback we know the bugs and are sorting them and the stress test happened over the last couple of days. Seems rly strange to me.

First off, thanks for the link. Very cool of you. And to be fair, the video shows some OK stuff, but really, it's just "OK". A lot of what I see there doesn't spark me from graphics to gameplay. It only reinforces my decision, personally.

Its ok dude, He did this in the other B3 Beta thread too. He said the graphics on final release would be the same as in the beta, I called BS on this and he gave me a similar response to the one you had. Funny how dice have sinced confirmed the graphics will be better in the final version, allowing higher resolution textures to be installed... Monkey doesnt like to be told that a beta is not a final version.

I disagree, I think the single player alone will be worth full price, plus the multiplayer doesn't interest me anyway.

Either you weren't going to purchase and now you will, or you were going to purchase it an now you're not? For me, military shooters (and shooters in general) are old hat. Granted, I've been playing them since the 90's (my first FPS was Medal of Honor on the PS1 in 1996). After a few days with the BF 3 beta, I see nothing to change my mind. I'll give it a rental for the SP campaign but as far as MP goes, each shooter has become pretty much a generic copy of the one before it and they're boring now. IMO, it brings nothing new to the genre. Thoughts?hotwingz85

That's exactly how I feel. I've always been an avid shooters fan but now, my interest for the genre is at an all-time low. It just doesn't feel fun anymore to do nothing more than point and shoot.

Dead Island, my personal GOTY so far, made me discover (and utterly enjoy!) the Action-RPG genre. The amount of things to do/manage in those games is so enthralling!

Now, to answer the question, I indeed changed my mind about buying Battlefield 3. I have cherished the Battlefield franchise for the longest time but for the reason mentioned above, I cancelled my pre-order and put the money on Elder Scrolls: Skyrim instead.
