I have to provide some light into this very dark and weak question...
First of all, anyone who states that the 360 has reached its true potential, better be saying that out of true, verifiable information. The 360 is far from its potential. When Gears was released a graphics ahievement was reached, then came Halo 3(upscaled FYI) and in the same time Bioshock (POWERFUL). I am a Sony fan so I will continue talking about the PS3 but I did not want to start my argument without clarifying that only an informationless fan boy would make such remarks.
The PS2 potential was reached basically a couple of months ago. When GT III was released a graphics/physics achievement was reached, when MGS SoL was released the same happened, and the limit was surpassed when Snake Eater was shown to be even more crisp in graphs and more elaborate/structured gaming. When GTA III was released an astounding in game play was demonstrated, the same was surpassed with VC and then with SA... Every new release proved the developers were milking much more from the console... A console's limit is not reached until far ahead in it's life cycle. It is only after game iterations are worked AND reworked that the consoles potential is challenged. In other words... true developers, keep pushing a console to juice up as much as possible of a game in order to ensure that more is packed. When looking into the PS2 which was released back in 2000, much of its potential was reached in 2004, a year later there were still many other games pushing the console to its limits, the last of these being God of War.
Asking if anyone has witnesses the PS3's potential is asking people to travel fwd in time... It will be some time if the PS3's potential is reached. It has to do with the fact that a God of War 3 is on the works (expect the game to be BIG), the first PS3 GTAIV game is on its way, so expect bigger, better things to be seen and played. Resistance was beautiful and another game is on the works promising to be even BETTER. We all know that MGS GoP will be BIG but it is still the first of any MG game in the PS3, and if KProductions decide to make another game, or a better game, or a hybrid game... it will push the console further.
In a plain answer, NO I have not witnessed the PS3 potential already... I will not witness this until further on in the next years.
Finally, know that the PS had an approximate useful game life of 10 yrs, Sony is still commited ot the PS2 on following the same path, so do not think that the PS3 is on another track... the Cell is SO powerfull, and people know SO little about it... that its true potential is YET to be unveiled.
