if this game was being developed by some newly founded company I would say it wouldn't be that great, but it is free radical and they have not done anything bad so far. Not all of their games are triple A but none of their games are bad by any means. It sounds right about where free radical has always been. They have fast paced shooting with funny macho jokes reminicent of timesplitters, with the tactical seriousness of goldeneye and perfect dark. Anyone who is a fan of free radical's work in the past should not be disappointed. To those who haven't played a free radical game go buy timesplitters future perfect on ps2. As far as ps3 needing games, they are like 10 exclusives that are great out now and some good ones to come in the future. People need to get over the fact that no 1 system is going to crush the others like in the past how NES crushed Master System, SNES had a strong lead over Genesis worldwide, PS1 and 2 had almost everything. I am kind of glad there are not as many games because maybe I can actually play most fo the good things that come out. Even while owning a ps2 since chirstmas of 2000 I still missed on quite a lot, so I am happy to say that I can play most of everything that comes out now. Companies want to expand their business with other businessmen. It is just too bad Sony thought everyone would just make games on their system and so now the ps3 owners had to suffer a bit in the beginning but things are looking up. There are also a lot of new companies forming and so they want to make smaller games and the ps3 isn't suited for the smaller type other than a downloadable game.

We still have MGS 4 Resistance LBP and Tekken 6, that is more than enough for me and then some. We have Disgaea 3 and Valkyrie Chronicles to get our RPG on.

A spring release for a pretty good but not triple A shooter isn't a bad deal. I am actually surprised at how much praise it is getting now versus before where no one wanted to say anything about it.

Gametrailers did not say it isn't anything new, it just said it isn't the next new FPS that you should buy 5 times because it is that good. They did say that the necter was cool and that the story was intersting, and that some of the deaths and other strange things were humorous. We still haven't heard a lick about multiplyer which is also the strength of Free Radical. I also believe that some of the videos do make the game seem like crap, but also there are some which make it look fun. I also believe that there could be different ways to approach a situation using necter, but since everyone likes visual clues on what is new such as a new gun or weapon, something of that nature, tthey don't realize that the new thing not just using your mind but your perception. Perception and the fun of how to use necter even if it is just joking around in the "new" thing with this game. Games like COD and other singleplayer shooter have a guy shout orders and then just give the gun and say take this out with this gun. Haze allows you to make choices such as, do I shoot guys A, B and C just normally, or do I drug guy A so he shoots guy B which makes guy C run out at me so I can then shoot him. Do I wait for guys A, B, and C to get close together and then drug all 3 at the same time and then pick them off myself..

Solid FPS and humor is what free radical is about, anyone who thought worse or highly anticipated something that rocked your socks had a false perception of the game to begin with. Hey since the game has to do with perception why doesn't everybody play it and maybe their perception of free radical will change as well. Quite ironic if I do say so myself

Yeah I feel like this isn't going to hold up to the extrememly high expectations that it has been put on. it also seems like they have toned the graphics waaaaaaay down. I'm guessing they had to do this to improve the framerate or something. It's just bad news for this game. Everybody was looking forward to it and that trailer was like a watered down version of all the other vids we have been seeing. Graphics were not as good as other vids we've seen, bland color, dumb AI... etc etc etc. I really hope they improve everything before the release....if it was released like that..... I see this game earning a 7.5 from GS. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN. Sony needs another great exclusive.kenken2g

You can't add much to games in two genres. Sports and first person shooters. They will all feel generic. Those kind of games have a more realistic nature to them. All devs can do is put out a nice looking game with a good story, good single player, optional multiplayer, and sharp controls. I expect Haze to be 8-8.5 average through all gaming sites.mrvic87

FRD is never revolutionary. Look at the Timesplitters series. They were a kick back to PD and goldeneye. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. As a matter of fact, if they did try to "Revolutionize" the genre, it would prolly blow up in their faces. FRD is amazing and Haze will be amazing.mystery1932

Man.. Super Smash Bro is truely legendary in that it's another lame game sold very well. If you strip away all the legendary iconic characters in the game, and replace it with other unkown characters, would the game hold half of its apeal? I highly doubt it.

Call of Duty 4 still pleases me for a "shooter," experiance.
Gears of War is still my favorite shooter game to play.

I'm in college, and I've gotten enough of my "game" addiction from COD4 this semester, I don't think Haze will do anything to make me want to play it "hours on end," like COD and Gears have done.

MGS4, Brawl, as I heard, GTA4, FFXIII, Mass Effect, Shadows of the Colossus are not games you can compare to other games. The experiences are too different, which is what I'm getting at. Haze however, I have not seen anything that says:

"Never even thought a shooter would've come up with it!" In comparison, it is generic and I will not take my money and buy something of that nature when it can be spent on that next Team Ico project or for a company that tried just a little bit harder.

You need to actually like - read and comprehend. Fun and revolutionary are two different things. MGS3 was not revolutionary, it was fun; much like super smash brothers.
