1) does the ps3 come with an HDMI cord?
2) If not, where would you buy em? is there a special kind?
3) Are they better/cheaper than component?
4) if better, how much better? whats visually improved? (in 1080i)

1) Nope
2) Any electronic store or major gaming store should have one. Any HDMI cable will do
3) IMO, there better then component, as for pricing, look around for the best deal
4) In 1080i, which I have, everything looks clearer and sharper, really brings out the graphics

If I messed up anywhere, I'm sure someone will correct me :)

1) No HD cables of any kind are packed-in with the PS3. You receive a typical composite cable.
2) You can buy them at retail stores, but scouring online is probably the best bet for a good deal. Don't buy any of that "there's a certain metal that's better than the rest" propaganda either; the price you pay is vast while the difference in quality is minimal. Don't spend over $30, but try to go as low as you can (my suggestion).
3) I find they're better, but I've not used Component Cables with my PS3, but I do use them with my 360. Overall, my PS3 has a vastly sharper picture quality than the 360, but I fear that's because Component is not the best medium to get a 1080p image out of (especially one that's artificial and not true).
4) Like I said above, the picture is sharper (as well as sound) and there is less hassle with all the cables since both sound and picture run through one cable. Other than a sharper image, there's not a whole lot more that you can tell.
