Please don't only use upper case when you're posting. It makes it extremely hard for others to read.

Ebay is not exactly a reputable source for... anything unless the seller has a relatively spotless record. But for HDMI cables, I would've just gone to monoprice instead, since the cables offered there are cheap and proven to be decent in reviews by Engadget.

Sounds like the cable, but try going thru the audio settings on your PS3 first. Also this sounds dumb, but turn off your PS3 and TV and try just taking the cable out and plugging it back in a few times on both the TV and the PS3. Make sure you get a nice snug connection on both sides.

try to go to sound settings and switch it to component cable, and plug the component cable into your speakers the red and white ones I believe, see if there is any difference... I use that because I have a monitor and have to use HDMI to DVI which cuts off the sound in HDMI...

Have you got 2.40 installed?-Only my PS3 was connected to my Sony Bravia lcd for the last 11 months without problems. But as soon as i installed the 2.40 update my ps3 became all laggy when playing MGS4 and a sort of "Static" interference effect kept happpening with the picture breaking down(streaks across screen+flashing on and off).So i connected the outta box Sony cable instead and it sems to be running ok now,so i'm gonna leave the HDMI cable off until i have installed the 2.41 update which is due out this weds. and hopefully will fix the problem.

Bingo. Things like this, it's hard for us, who aren't there, to tell what's going on or who's the culprit here. But, as this poster said, try differnt cables. If composite cables look better (and they shouldn't), it's the HDMI cable. If they look the same, well we're back at square one (well at least, we don't know if it's the PS3 or the TV)

edit: when I said "composite" let's just pretend I said "component". It'll be our little secret
