since when is the 360 and the wii next gen???
I found this comparison from Resistance. It was actually captured by someone else, but it looks about right to me, since I've played the game in both sd and hd.ÂEww, that 480 pic hurts my eyes. Thank goodness I have a HDTV

i suggest if u have the money, pick up one, but if it is under 50" dont worry bout 1080p, you cant tell difference between 720p and 1080p with a tv under 50", and yes there is a huge difference between sdtv and hdtv sry no pics tholions_rock_2008Thats not true I swear people need to stop saying there is no difference under 50" for 1080p thats BS I know cause I have both. As for SD and HD its like night and day bro.
next-gen consoles are all about HD. if you're paying THAT much for a system and you don't plan on getting an hdtv before the consoles go down in price, you may as well just wait. there's no sense in buying one at $600 if you aren't going to utilize the hd capabilities. not even with the exclusive games would you get me to buy one without an hd tv.

Well, that pic really exaggerates the reduced detail because it's a magnified section of just a single portion of the screen. Since most SDTVs are smaller in screen size than most HDTVs the difference is less noticeable. But yes, HDTV does make a big difference because of the higher resolution and a lot of other factors (better contrast, progressive scanning, wider aspect ratio etc etc.) RFOM still looks nice on an SDTV though because of the higher polygon count, better textures, smoother animations etc so noone should think a PS3 is totally wasted on an SDTV.
It's REALLY awesome on a 40+ HDTV with full surround sound though ;)
PS3 is wasted on SD TVs period, it's like giving a Lotus to your great grand father. pimperjones
lol        EXACTLY!
