I have mine at 3. Just play with your headset till you find something you like.

it all depends on how loud (or obnoxious) the other people you're talking to are.

sometimes "mute" is the best setting of all.

Since I don't yell or curse at people, 4 is good for me. If you are loud or like to sing, maybe 3 or 2 is good for you.

also true if you like to have the game you're playing cranked up loud. i don't need to hear the sound track and sound effects twice, thanks. :)
