[QUOTE="k2dart2k"]I'll acknowledge this, its basically god of war on ps3 but with a chick and a new timeline/story. But I'm not complaining, just mentioning this. I do dig the style of both games so I can't wait for Sept. 4th!dewmandew7
Yep, you figured it out too. I guess we're the only ones. I didn't like God of War very much. I prefer to kill my enemies BEFORE they get close enough for me to hit them with a sword. Give me some sort of semi-automatic machine gun and I'm good. 8)
Coward ;), jk
Really though, do we need another 50 million shooters. I thought GoW waw awesome, and the second even better. I was cautiously optomistic before, now I know Im going to get this game.
I'm most intrigued by the storyline. A son supposed to be born within this sacred clan to rule over and lead them to glory using the heavenly sword, yet a female is born, and is seen as a burden, as she is not what the prophecy stated. They get attacked, she must use the heavenly sword to defend her clan, and it kills her to use it (literally), draining her of her life with every moment she holds it in her hands. The story starts towards the end of the game where she's just about dead from being drained of her life with the sword, and she looks back on what brought her to this end. Pretty exciting if you ask me. And gameplay won't be exactly the same. There are three fighting styles, in which only one has the chain attached to the two swords, another one combines the two swords to form a big powerful sword, and the last form splits em up, and the are the quickest form, yet least powerful...something to that extent. Reminds of GoW, but not a rip off.JCMac120
This person knows wha the is talking about. REMINDS of GoW but not a ripoff.

then we should say every game that comes out is a rip off of another game.

[QUOTE="jpridgen0"]only thing i see similar is they both have swords/daggers attached to chains. . . ive yet to see the heavenly sword(forgot her name) girl use god-like powers.k2dart2k
Also the "Simon Says" button matching. You'll see a giant X or an O or square appear on screen before a cinematic animation.
But this is to be expected GoW was a giant hit, and I enjoyed it. I'm happy to have more of this style of gameplay on the next gen console in a couple months.
Im stoked!
ZOMG Resident Evil 4 is just like God of War!!![QUOTE="Haseokicksass"]Arent they made by the same people?dewmandew7
No, they're made by different developers. Both developers are owned by Sony, but they work independently of each other.
No, Ninja Theory is not owned by Sony.

So it has the same feel, because as you said, different lead character, new timeline and a new storyline, so different game, same feel.
