Heavenly Sword reviews

Having played the demo,... my father got addicted to the first game he has been addicted to in years,... he is adiment that this is the first game that has impressed him ten fold in years. We are definitely going to buy the game in SAINSBURYS. Its supremely entertaining, in the same way as the first TOMB RAIDER was, and GEARS OF WAR.

I can't wait to get it!!!!

If MS was lining pockets, BioShock would've gotten the better than 9.0 review that it deserves. Unless the game has chainsaws or says "Halo" GS underrates it.Gamer46

Gears of War is a great game, don't get me wrong. I just thought it was a tad overrated.

Of course Heavenly Sword got a lower score than God of War>>>>

THe Bar is raised Much higher, as it should be, for Next Generation games.

So even if Heavenly Sword is as good as God of War, lets say EXACTLY as good then it STILL would score less because the PS3 is capable of SOoo Much more so it needs to be EVEN Better to score Better than the last gen games that were just as good.

In conclusion I really LOVE Heavenly Sword and I think it is DEFINATLY a work of Art and I think that its Ok that it scored what it did because I Drool thinking about what MORE the PS3 can do Once the QUirks of Programming for our PowerFul Beast are worked out!!!!

So I am VERY happy and I will still enjoy the game regardless>>>>>>

The microsoft comment was an obvious joke, sorry some of you were pulled in by it, and the game length arguement is ridiculous when you give it any thought at all.

How long was Resident Evil? 3 hrs?

How long was MGS?

How long was God of War?

These are some of the greatest games ever made. I'd put Heavenly Sword up with them.

The fact remains that this is a VERY high quality game. It is short. Like any button masher it is a bit repetitive, but it is incredibly immersive. This game isn't a game... it's an experience.

Few games have floored me with their presentation. Resident Evil. God of War. Legacy of Kain (first one). Original Tomb Raider. Maybe a few others, but Heavenly Sword now comfortably sits along side these games.

i agree! hahaha Heavenly Sword is def one of the best yet. so wat is the game is short? its enough for an awesome gaming experience.

Length is a meaningless metric for a game review, it's borderline idiotic.  Is FF12 a 20/10 because it had 100 hours of gameplay?  Score the game based on its merits, and let people know the length so they can assess its value for themselves.  Its like judgeing a book by how many pages it has.  Gamespot and the other revewers that take into account length are applying a strange metric that cannot will not be applied consistantly and I think they messed up.  It assumes there is an optimum length.

 I think Ico is one of the greatest games ever, its 3-4 hours long the second time.  Big deal.

 As I age I am starting to prefer high quality short games.  I just have too much to do in the real world.  

Why is it that if a PS3 game doesn't get a nearly perfect review that Microsoft must be paying someone off? Maybe the reviewers were just put off by the shortness of the game and relative lack of replay value.

Furthermore, you cannot compare scores from this gen to last gen because the bar has been raised, hence it's more difficult for games to reach such greatness. I'm not saying I agree with alot, or even most, of the reviews these days, but I really don't believe that everyone is being paid off.

i dont think that microsoft is paying anyone of it's just most reveiwers are baised anyway. take game informer for instance since since they are affiliated with gamestop any big game that comes out even if it sucks it gets at least a 7 that just gets people to go to gmestop and buy it.
