Noooo. I only have around 1Gb left on my 20Gb PS3. :x Looks like I will have to buy a new harddrive. This makes me angry though, because I was told several times on message boards that 20Gb is more than enough for just games.
thats ok with me ..i dont use my HDD space for anything but games anyways...
and im getting a bigger one soon ..so i should be ok
[QUOTE="Sepewrath"]Thats pretty ridiculous. ryrulezMGS4 was 4.6gb adn resident evil was 5gb so it's not abnormal. And Fallout 3 GOTY Edition is 6.7GB, yeah, take that puny installs!!!!
we've never complained about installing pc games so what makes ps3 any different

Well, the PS3 is a console... I personally don't mind installs, until I run out of space I guess.
Oh thanks for the heads up. I now know how much memory to save.
I got 10gb left of my 80 so im good.
Even though the 80gb ps3 can only actually take 74gb.

Good thing I just got my 250GB Slim :P That is a lot of space though. MGS4 had a huge install and was an amazing game so does that mean big install = amazing game? :PTexas2089
Well, Uncharted 2 had NO install, and took almost NO space so... amazing games have no excuse.

lol it was a joke dude. I do think MGS4 is better than Uncharted 2 though, but not because of the install :P[QUOTE="Texas2089"]Good thing I just got my 250GB Slim :P That is a lot of space though. that uncharted 2 SP demo was a whopping 1.8GB the demo was short and the funny thing that demo was in retail stores for months. I actually by chance thought it will be somthing new or extraSimple solution. Delete game data from your hard drive that you've traded in or do not play anymore.Noooo. Seems a bit odd. It's a slow paced game with small environments (as far as I've seen). With Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 not needing installs, I'm starting to think it's the devs being a bit lazy. It's a way to compensate for inefficient programming. Or maybe not, I don't know.
Hehe. It's not even enough for just music, mate.Noooo. I only have around 1Gb left on my 20Gb PS3. :x Looks like I will have to buy a new harddrive. This makes me angry though, because I was told several times on message boards that 20Gb is more than enough for just games.

Who cares. I wish all games had an install? If it makes the game run better and load faster then I am all for it. Uncharted 2 is great but I hate how long it takes to first boot it up. It's not that I like wasting space, but if they ever could make the game run like a cartridge that would be cool. Hard drive space is not saved data space so I don't see what everyone's probelm is. Who plays more than 3 games heavily at a time? We all have games that we don't play nearly as much anymore.
Thanks for the heads up, but whatever helps make the game run smooth is no problem for me. I also have about 190 gigs of space left on my hdd so that helps as well.

The reason why there are installs on some PS3 games is because the blu-ray player in the PS3 is actually slow so reading the game would cause LONG LOAD TIMES. The installs help diminish the load times. Uncharted 2 had no install because Naught Dog streams the game off the blu-ray. And I'm pretty sure MGS4 was A LOT bigger than Uncharted 2.
Same here. I got plenty of space. :P I don't mind letting my games install, either. Its for performance optimization, people! You wanna play the best you gotta make sacrifices! ;)500 gis = no problems

it was more than enough for just games saves... then they started implementing game installs for almost every game...Noooo. You can delete stuff, but yeah I have a launch 60 gig and upped my to 250. You can order a HDD online for cheap I think mine was like $80. That isa large install though, MGS4 and Oblivion both had similar size installs.Noooo. I only have around 1Gb left on my 20Gb PS3. :x Looks like I will have to buy a new harddrive.
