It freezes, and then makes a bunch of quick beep noises and the screen goes black. If I turn it on and off, it works...but this problem has become more frequent. Is it dying?

Yea it sounds like its dying, better back up all your saves right away just to be safe. Idr beeping noises [its been awhile] when mine started to act weird before it got the YLOD but the games would freeze then it just would shut off. It would shut off faster and faster til it wouldnt start up anymore. Is the screen just going black or is the system shutting off?

hmm.. yea thats nowhere near long enough for your console to be wearing out.. my only guess is maybe its your disk drive needing to be cleaned, dust build up perhaps.. unless u leave your system on for long periods of time it could be the power switch wearing out but i doubt it.. i'd try cleaning the disk drive.

its mostly the YLOD problem....u cud try a quickfix but then its only a matter of time before it relapses....better to back up all your data and send it back to sony for a new slim.
