Help with PSP buttons

Alright so here's the issue: I am unable to connect to the Internet via PSP due to my inability to enter my WEP key. This is because when I attempt to enter the WEP key the letters rapidly change and i am unable to do anything but the first letter and the last symbol(Generally a number) Also, when playing Patapon I noticed my select button was malfunctioning :(. The whole button thing doesnt do that on anything else though as I am able normally play games, I can't exit back to the PSP menu though for i cant move the selection thinger over to yes, its stuck at "No" (Yes i've check the hold button thinger)

I experienced a similar problem in Tekken, trying to enter my character name. I reset the PSP System Settings to default (to flush memory) and it worked fine afterwards. Also try totally turning off the PSP instead of using sleep mode. To do this, hold the power button up until it turns off.
