I know some people don't care at all how their game cases look but I don't like scuffs, cracks, stains, stickers, etc. on mine. I recently bought 2 games from GameStop. I have been pretty impressed with their sales and customer service. If you tell them that you want the clear case, they will give it to you.... $4.99 for Resistance and $4.99 for Sports Champions! You can't beat that deal and the games are pretty fun! I would say both of them are now in very good/like new condition after some "reconditioning".

Stickers? After taking the paper, manual and disc out of the case, just spray on windex and let it soak on the stickers. Then scrub it off with towel or paper towel. For the sticker residue, just use a little alcohol and it comes off.

Wrinkle/crease in booklet? Put a towel over it and use an iron on low heat with steam but not too much. And then stick it in a big heavy book for a day. It will flatten it out.

Finger prints/smudges on disc? Just a spray of water and a tissue will fix that. If that don't work, I use windex and it comes out perfect.

If you want brand new replacement cases, you can also just buy them for like $1-2 on ebay. I saw 10 cases for $15 with free shipping on ebay.

Neat tips. Nice to know I'm not alone with my OCD with respect to cases. :D

There's a cleaner called Goo Gone that you probably find at your local hardware store cheap - it removes sticker residue perfectly and it doesn't damage the plastic.

If you don't have that, another quick trick to get rid of sticker residue is to put a plastic card (like you EB Edge card) under the sticker, peel it off and use masking tape or duct tape to peel the sticker residue off.

Wish I knew that about the stickers, I let someone else try to get one off, and they got it off, but now there are huge dents where they obviously used their fingers to scrape it off:evil:

Great tips. I do go OCD on Playstation 3 cases. I always get a clear plain case to replace the RED greatest hits games.

Thanks

I don't see how people can't care about their cases, but those are the people who usually can't find their games

Nice tips! The biggest annoyance for me is the stickers. Some peel off smoothly while others tear and leave an awful mark. Surprisingly, nail varnish works a treat on getting rid of the mark lol.

Here is another tip that will get the toughest sticker off....... WD-40!

I came across an old ps2 game (Dead or Alive: Hardcore) and it had a large sticker residue. I actually tried my windex and alcohol method and it surprisingly didn't come off. I found WD-40 and tried it. It worked! On the label, it says it also cleans adhesives and gum. If the windex and alcohol don't work, go with the stronger WD-40..... After you use it, it will loosen & smear the sticker residue so then you come with the windex or alcohol to wipe it off.

So try windex and alcohol.... if that don't work, go with stronger WD-40.

And if you have trouble with your scratched ps2 discs or dvds, I use tooth paste and it works perfectly. Look it up on youtube.

nice info man, i've always prefered plain old jewel cases myself, one time back in the ps2 days i had a disk crack down the middle as a result of taking it out of the original case, haven't trusted them since..
