[QUOTE="G-Legend"][QUOTE="c0mplex"] [QUOTE="G-Legend"]I think it's pretty obvious Paramount got money to do this HD-DVD exclusive thing. Seriously who in their right minds would change to a losing format by a 2-1 ratio? It just doesn't make any sense possible. Money was probably involved and everyone knows *cough* M$ *cough* does this all the time put 2 and 2 together you get 4 and this reasoning....it just makes sense.c0mplex
MS paid for nothing...
you keep thinking that...
the HD DVD Promotional Group does not have MS as any chair/primary position company, nor is it a managing member.
but hey... i'm sure your fanboy brain can concoct some proof that MS did pay for that exclusivity deal... even though MS's position in the HD DVD Promotional Group is no higher than Paramounts. :)
although there is no proof MS paid for anything, they do have vested interest in seeing the format succeed, this coupled with the drop in the price of the add-on, and slight drop in price of the 360, and only a blind person would say MS didnt have a hand in or have knowledge of this. MS gets money from hd dvd cus they are contracted for the system it uses, kind of like an OS, for the interactive features and whatnot while blu ray went with java.
[QUOTE="The_Rick_14"]Also, Bay is that pissed then he shouldn't have been lazy and he should have done what Spielberg did and get a clause in that agreement that say movies directed by him go on both.muppet1010
yeah he should have done something along these lines... but i guess its toolate now.
It'll be interesting to see if paramount go back on this decision or if they stand by it. Whatever happens this sure is a sledgehammer blow for Blu-ray....
blockbuster is a sledgehammer blow to hd dvd, this is not as it not only does not include steven spielberg movies which is their main property but their other big director/producer bay doesnt seem to be very happy. as long as disney and sony stick with blu ray, which they always will cus they are invested in the format heavily, they will be fine cus sony is the #1 movie studio on the planet since breaking records in 06 and disney, well they are a proven money maker. its a good thing most other studios back blu ray as well too though, and universal is about to jump ship from hd dvd after less than stellar hd dvd sales so far and blu ray clobbering hd dvd recently. not only that but if you want to rent a movieonhd dvd you basically have to do it over the internet now, something most consumers dont want to do as they dont want to jump through hoops to see a movie on saturday night at home or have delivery complications etc.
