i for one think PSHome is giong to be sweet, it will be like the sims online!
no online community on a major product like this has ever been attempted, especially at such a large scale. I for one can't wait for this to come out, imean it would be awsome to meet up with friends and go play games and stuff like that. Like second life only... you know... good!

[QUOTE="americahellyeah"]Did you ever play the Sims online or 2nd Life? yep not sims online but I do have an account for second life. That game is riddled with performance problems(it doesn't even look that good) and countless bugs. The potential within second life is there, but I merely see it as a sort of BETA at this point. Second life and HOME seem similar, but HOME isn't simply a copy of second life. It's different in the way features are being put in in and how you can access content. The only similarities I really see between the two is having your own avatar and your own apartment(which you have to pay for in second life anyway)i for one think PSHome is giong to be sweet, it will be like the sims online!

To me it looks like they're taking the core of second life and just pushing everything forward, minus the bugs and glitches of course.
[QUOTE="GameArtGuy"][QUOTE="Gzus666"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]THe idea of a myspace style thing is ok, achivements being shown and trophies, but I think the HOME idea is not very good. what is the point of having a virtual character and a fake computer apartment? This remind sme of people who pay REAL MONEY for islands in MMORPGS. HOME seems like a distrtaction, there is no gain in having a character to move, a simple chat room would be fine, we dont need characters. imagien having to make microtransactions to pay for stuff in your house? it doesnt make sense! why cant we just have an achievement list for every gamer online. HOME seems fancy, but I think its a bad idea.UntoldDreamsbut its free, and they can put advertisements around to keep their profits up, while providing great content. the virtual games look good, who doesnt like bowling, pool and those arcade games once and a while? while im not a big online socialite, a lot of people are, so im sure it will be a turn for the better for the PS3 It said you will be charged for extras from the playstation store... most likely you are going to pay for anything beyond having a character. Second life?

Actually I have been leaning towards buying an Xbox360 because of all the cool Xbox live features, but with the upcoming release of HOME I think that has persuaded me to buy a PS3 now. The home feature IMO looks really innovative, I have never seen something like that for a console. I personally will be using and hopefully love HOME :)FlameMeI hope they will both be good. But really I'd base which system to get on which exclusive games you want to play... if you play a lot of online games, then it looks like you're going to have to wait and see how convenient Home is compared to Live.
Home has really got me interested, but thinking that XBL is dead after 4 years because of a pretty looking version of Second Life is crazy.flatline711xbox live won't go anywhere - it's so easy and user friendly. you get an invite from your buddy to play gears of war, you accept it - and you start playing it right then. i love how easy to use it is. but like i said, as xbox fan, i'm very interested myself.

You can buck the trend all you want and come up with any of a hundred reasons why you dislike it or don't care, but ideas like this are the future and I for one welcome them.
i love the idea .. its new smart and i dont see people whoud hate on it .. and besides on home u can do everythign like seeing stuff from other people videos .. like a new youtube (thing i see youtube makig there own room there with videos) and lots of music lots of arcade games to pass the time and so on ...
well the way i see it is great cant wait !
Personally i like the idea of HOME. But still, with "additional items available from the store", it seems like sony are pulling every trick out of the hat to try and narrow down that money loss on every console they sell.its a way to fund the servers and the time spent and updates for all the content. they are going to make the money back on consoles with games, if they havent already(im sure they have with all the price drops for the hardware they are using)

i wonder what kinda censoring it will have. i mean i get annoyed in 16 player matches by atleast 1 person 90% of the time while playing XBL. how many people can be in the public lobby at a time? i can see some people using this feature to just be total jerks, now in 3D!
it would be nice if all the reagions wer meshed together though. since it has emotes and simple text saying they could easily translate into diffrent languages. how many of us really wanna try out VF skills against some Japanese gamers? i hear their pretty good at that game.....

Its still free. I like it. 'll pay a few bucks for some things. I just hope they don't pull a M$ and charge you 5 bucks for a 100kb tshirt image.

HAHAHAH seriously, people these days make me laugh with their ignorance. First they complain about how PSN is no where near as good as XBL. They complain how there are no unified buddy lists, no achievements. So Sony announces both features and a whole lot more, at no initial cost to the consumer. Now people are whining that Sony is trying too hard. WOW. Our civilization has hit an all time low if people are reprimanded for putting effort into something. Seriously, leave it alone you lazy, lazy bastards.MisterEngilshAmen...

Have any of you in this room bothered to look at peoples history of forums when they come in with there opinions.
This film-guy has repeatedly dissed playstation3, he has said that mgs3 was "cheesy" and inferior to splinter cell. He clearly is a fanboy trying to start a war in a ps3 forum and not system wars. Theres nothing wrong with opinions but yours(film-guy) have been biased.
