Before HOME got officially announced I created a topic about how, if the rumours of what PSH were true, it could possibly render gaming sites like Gamespot, 1up and others like them obsolete to PS3 gamers. You can check it out here. Well, Sony's come out with it and it's blown through the gaming industry like a storm. It's even much more than many thought. So now it leaves me believing even more that once this thing launches, sites like GS that have actively placed negative tints on Sony's PS3 for their own gain might have a vast majority of it's users as only PC, xbox and wii fans.
Home gives us the, PS3 fan, a place for ourselves free from obsessive negativity and rampant fanboism. Now in order for sites like gamespot to get the PS3 users back (that's if they give a toss) they may end up actually paying Sony for their forum services to be put on the PSH like Gamestrailers are contemplating doing. Wouldn't that be ironic to say the least.Â
In HOME there will obviously be an area for PS3 user reviews; free from idiotic fanbois trying to bring down the median score like this or this or even this. It'll be for only guys who know what PS games are about and appreciate them so if we see a low scoring game it'll be way more reliable than say here at GS. The text forums on HOME could also be incredible and the possibilities to create 3D gaming unions is very nice too.
So I pose the question again, with being able to do everything one can do on GS but even better on the PSH, would there truly be much need to be on sites like GS when one could check out wii, PC and xbox news and info from other sites like IGN?
