In my opinion Home as it is... is nothing more then a steaming pile of cow dung but because of that new items and clothing should be made available frequent and at no to very limited cost. 2 DOLLARS !!!!! for a digital chair table or couch or for some ugly clothing made out of the delightfull fabric we know as pixels!

I mean COME ON! I would have to spend like 50 bucks to make my home look even a little decent and when I'm done spending that I cant do much more then dance around or watch warhawk commercials... Home its official you suck!

You use" WOOT" when you are happy about something, so your title doesn't make sense with the article. And yes, home sucks, it's been official since it went to open beta.

Woot?

If people dont like home dont use it

I enjoy going and watching movie clips

Hanging in Sully bar

It is far from anything practical, but what has Sony done right as all this gen?

How is Sony going to get money if they don't charge you for anything excerpt the PS3 itself? You're getting to play on the net for free, including getting a lot of features "they" don't get, additionally to the fact that you have to pay nearly everything to play on "their" console. So if they are letting you get online Home for free, you're not obligated to buy extra features to it.

This is the way I look at home also, there's not much more to it. There are some cool things that will happen too like if you go to Japan Home, you can play Galaga, Asteroids and other classics.

Technically speaking, how can HOME be really "free" when it costs SONY $$$ to hire people to produce, maintain and run it? That "free" service has to be funded somehow doesn't it? No company will give something for free if they can't make $$$ out of it---and as of now, DLC, micro money is the way to go cause there will always be people who are willing to shell out $$$ for trivial things. And then there are people who say then don't use it---but SONY doesn't give a crap about those people.

If offering useless items is a strategy by Sony to recoup the costs of Home then they are failing, because there is no way they are selling enough dressers, or shirts to cover the cost of Home. It would be so much easier if they had charged a flat rate for a subscription service for the entirety of PSN, rather than optional items that may or may not sell.

That's what people said with MS and them selling themes, pics, and such... and it works for them. Give Sony time... people will start buying trivial things to maximize their playtime.

Well... after giving Home a chance, i deleted it, saving myself 3Gb. Really did nothing for me, but if it appeals to some, then so be it.

Well, assuming your original comment was talking about the 360, then my comment is valid. Otherwise, yes, we are talking about completely different things.

You are correct in your assumption but I'm not sure you're connecting it. Your original comment is a complaint against a strategy that you later deemed successful.

No. I was commenting that Sony ONLY charging for useless DLC they are not going to offset the cost of Home/PSN, but if they'd adopted an Xbox Live-like subscription service from the beginning then they would be better off. That's all I'm saying. :)
