how did you guys save up for a PS3?

im refering to those who are underage,im 16 but getting a official job in this "economic crisys" is pretty hard,lol but yea.

ive decided my first 2 gamers are gonna be "killzone 2" and "resident evil 5",pretty good to start off with,i think

But i want to get the console out of the way first,then ill focus on games,so anybody have any ideas?i already have $105 by saving lunch money for 3 months,lol

if there are no price drops,then i would only need like $200 more,since dad is putting in $100 ounce i get enough

so give me ideas please =]

i got a job, sold some old systems. Asked for money on holidays (ex: christmas and bday). Did not buy things i didnt absolutely need like gum. Sell some old games, i like ur 2 choices for the games u r gonna get.

I didnt...I got drunk and walked into a shop on New Years Day 2008 and bought it....then had to buy a new tv to play it on...But as an accountant I would advise you look at your monthly income in detail - identify spend you can do without (dvd's, games for other consoldes, social nights) and remove them on a basis your acceptable with - put this money aside each month until you have reached your goal...

I got lucky. Dad bought a HD TV and wanted a Blue Ray DVD player, looked at the price of all the other BR player, around $1,500, and at the price of a PS3, $600. The choice was obvious and I ended up with a next gen gaming system.

I saved up some money to buy me one of those high end casual cams for about 1000$. Even though I owned a PS2 and a XBox I was heavily into WoW at that time and didn't noticed the PS3 really, until it was released on 23th of March 2007. Two friends of mine visited me that day and I just drove to a game store with them and bought my PS3 along with Resistance. Six months later my dad bought himself one of those cams and I didn't had to buy one myself. My warranty runs out these days :(

Wow, I really admire you guys who work your buts off, save up, hustle (lol), scrimp and save for your passion. YOu'll enjoy it so much more. I must admit mine was a gift, but that's a good thing because i'm trying to save up for a house.

I got my PS3 the old fashioned way during a time when that was possible, I worked my butt off for it. During my senior year I got a job as a busser at a newly opened high-****Mexican restaurant, and I didn't even speak spanish that well. It was good thing I didn't really care about my grades, lol. Basically from working for a full-year I spent my tips on whatever I needed to buy like clothes and food and put the money I got from the work hours away and never touched it.

I saved my birthday and christmas money, sold my ps2 and all my games and then begged my dad for the final 50 pound

The bad part though, is that as soon I started working I stopped getting paid allowances XD. And then having to pay for gas, insurance (California), phone bills, and the other stuff parents usually pay for all of a sudden got cut off.

I tried to study being an accountant, so the accountant's comment a page back is right on the money. If you have friends don't let them coax you into going out and seeing a bunch of movies or go to their social gatherings cause all that ate through my wallet like tissue paper.

I'm 17 but I can't get a job because, where I live, it's hard to get one when you're still studying. I decided I wanted a PS3 by the end of this year so I spoke to my dad and he agreed to pay for half of the console and I gotta cover the other half and every game and additional stuff I'll need after that. I think it's fair enough and I'm pretty grateful.

So, I did my calculations and if I save 100% of my allowance for this entire year, I can get an 80GB PS3 and 5 games (I'm definitely getting Killzone 2!) before December. Save 100% of my allowance! A hundred blardy percent! That means I can't buy anything, including food and drinks but I'm determined.

After getting my console I'll be outta cash and gotta try ta convince my dad to buy me a hard disk to upgrade my PS3 with and a HDMI cable because I already have 2 HD TVs in my house but nothing to utilize the HD with (until I get my PS3!).

My grandma died and I inherited some money. Thanks grandma!

Worked all through the Christmas Holidays shovelling snow until I had enough money to buy a PS3 and a couple games.

i wanted a ds but my dad didnt want to pay $200 for a ds and a game so he told me i was better off buying a ps3 which is 2x more than the ds

i really didnt save i just traded my xbox 360 and the games the money i got from that i just added $175 i bought a brand new ps3

well, i got good marks on my finals and saved up 200$ beforehand. my parents payed the other ~250$

Well I wasn't even planning on getting one since they used to cost 2000$ at the time here in Brazil , so all of a sudden dad phoned me and said he had found an amazing deal , the 60gb for 700$ an asked if I wanted it.That's how I got it :P

Well i started selling weed and other drugs i robbed a few kids lol it was fun i also have a job that i used as a cover and drugfront also i saved up but most importently i whored myselfon the street lol i love my life.

I actually bought a 60 gig that had a ejecting problem and fixed it and everything brrn cool since... I could not afford it at the time.

Well I managed to get my mom to pay for half.

As for how I came up with the other half it wasn't that hard. I never really buy anything when I make or get money so it was kinda there just there begging to be spent.:P

Asked my parents to get it in exchange for good grades. Well the good grades never came, but later I got a job and paid them back in full, then I got money to dish out on the massive list of games I have right now.
