Started the game and I'm already confused by its convoluted battle system. So bad so I turned if off after spending awhile just trying to pull this action off. I'd appreciate the help.

I do what the tutorial tells me to, placed the cursor between the two characters and did a Hero Action. But what's after that? What action initiates the Tri-Attack once Hero Action is engaged?

Running between your two other guys in hero mode gets you resonance points which is what you use to do the tri-attack, then you press triangle as the guy above said, but after collecting resonance points i think you cannot do any other move other than tri-attack or hero mode. If you do you lose resonance points, or something like that.

So wait, I run between my party members like I do while in Hero Action mode >>>> Press Triangle >>>>> Press Square >>>>> Charge Up will initiate >>>> Press X

Did I state that right? How many Resonance Points do I need to perform one Tri-Attack? Please excuse my premitive questions but I'm totally lost with this system.

It's really confusing. Try this, when your 3 line up at the start of the fight get the middle character to run right (to the edge of the map) doing a hero run, then get your right hand character to run to the left hand side of the map, once they are both there get your left hand character to run straight up to the top of the map jumping over the enemies. This should give you 3 resonance points and your characters should be in a massive triangle surrounding the enemies. Then press triangle (I think, not played it in a bit) and you should see a dotted line connecting them all. Press square and they should all start running round the dotted triangle unloading into the enemies.

To gain resonance points you have to do Hero Actions passing between the other 2 characters, this movements have to be consecutive or you will lose your stored resonance points.

The best way is to make wide arcs, to always move your characters in a way that they wont get stuck at a corner or wall, think about triangles... sounds weird, but try to predict how your formation will look as a triangle after your Hero Actions.

The more resonance points you get, the longer the Tri-Attack will last.

When you initiate the Tri-Attack be sure with which character you want to start it (preferably, one with machineguns), when the 3-attack starts, all your characters will fill their aim gauge at the same time and when you hit X they will attack in order (from the one you selected to start the attack to the last, going down on the list), now, after that, if you still have resonance points left, they will start charging again, this time from the next character, and so on.

Its a complicated move to pull out, so you shouldnt really force it, in fact, there are times that could hurt you because tho set up the movement you will need to get into a very vulnerable possition, but other times is a life-saver, tri-attack will let you continuously pummel your targets without giving them the chance to retaliate.

Other advantage of the Tri-Attack is that, if long, will let you recover a lot of scratch damage.

Also remember, the charge still depends on distance and mods to your weapons, and even if 1 characters 3-attack empties, the others can still attack.

Oh, and the 3-attack will switch your characters positions, so be careful
