how do you put another hard drive in to save games do you have to open the ps3?how does it work ?

I'm not sure but I think you have to open where it sais HDD I would check on it though (its on the side of the PS3)

my flash drive works, so an external hard drive might work too.  check on that thought; im not sure.

There's a small removable plate on the bottom of the PS3 that you can pop off with a little effort. You just unhook a small latch, and the hard drive should slide right out. As far as I know, you can use any 2.5" SATA hard drive (notebook size) to replace the stock HD. An external USB HD will work as well, though the extra cable hanging around isn't going to look very good.

Most of it is built in. Otherwise, the format feature would do some serious damage.

I can't tell you exactly for it might break, but the bottom the PS3 where it says HDD, is where the hard drive is. You have to open it and remove it. Then put another one in.
