So I've got 11 games in my game pile that I have not finished. Out of 21. That's not counting the games I sold/traded off that weren't finished either. That's half the games I have. Mostly it's because I get too wrapped up with reviews and think a game is good....when I end up thinking it's just average. Games not finished:

Bioshock, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Borderlands - FPSs, Bio was irritating, K2, R2 and Blands haven't played much. I don't like FPSs much.

Siren:Blood Curse - Out of all these games, this one I haven't played just because it's **** scary...and I hate repeating stuff like that when I die.

Eternal Sonata - average story, somewhat hated the gameplay

FIFA 10 - Hated the controls. I still think FIFA 08 was the best version.

Demon's Souls - Somewhat overhyped, but I probably would have kept playing if not for the "we're gonna lock your save file" crap, can't be bothered to return to it now

Dirt 2 - I love racing games. I do. But this game just kept giving me headaches. And since I'm prone to migraines, I just can't continue really.

Infamous - I've probably played this the most from the rest. Mid-way through it just got tedious. I hated the side-missions, story was average (it supposedly gets better, but I don't care anymore), bland environments, repetitive gameplay, I just got fed up with it.

God of War Collections - This I'm actually currently playing. I'm doing the first game now, though again I'm somewhat disappointed. If I didn't have free time nowadays, I probably would have stopped. I'm also considering not getting GoW 3 when it comes out. I had more fun with Heavenly Sword.

Of course all these non-finishes have been affected by not much time to play in the first place. However if these games were excellent, I probably would have pushed through. I think all of these games scored at least an 8 on gamespot. And for a lot I would have scored them lower personally. I should probably sell/trade these games when I can. What about you guys? What games have you not finished, and why?

On the PS3, there's just a few. Assassins Creed (first, I enjoyed and completed the second within 3 days of picking it up), Far Cry 2, Oblivion, and GTA4. All of these games bore me to tears, and I will most likely NEVER finish them.

Define "finish" Fifa 10, and Dirt 2??? Do you mean platinum trophy? To me games like that you never really "finish'. At least not as long as their is online play for them. Dirt 2 was an easy game to platinum without really trying since you don't even have to beat the CPU on the hardest difficulties (which I could never do, and forget about winning the weekly tournaments). Fifa 10 seems to make you do alot of nonsensical stuff to 100% "platinum" and I'm sure I will never bother.

I haven't yet finished Dragon Age: Origins. But I was enjoying it about 10 hours in. I guess I have ADD because I was taken away from that by the God of War Collection, and this week to MAG. It's been about a month and I can't really explain why I haven't finished it.

I have a bunch of unopened games. The only game that i started and stopped playing because it was so truly terrible, is the Watchmen. That's probably one of the worst games on PS3 and it's a joke that it was ever available as a retail package. I have no desire to finish it (I probably got through about 3 chapters before I got disgusted with how terrible and repetitive the enemies and environments were). Hell the game is supposedly like 2 hours long and I don't even care. It's not even worth 2 hours of my time. Total lack of effort by the developer and I actually wish I just had the standalone movie in my blu-ray movie collection instead of the bundled PS3 version.

Alone in the Dark: Inferno(haven't even started), Batman: Arkham Asylum, Darksiders, Dead Space, Dragon Age: Origins(game I'm playin now. Addicted), God of War Collection, Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid IV, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tolls of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Valkyria Chronicles. I left out LittleBigPlanet and racing games since you never really complete them.

Heavenly Sword, Resistance 2, a couple of games that I've sold back in the days and re-bought. I'm still trying to finish these up.. Just got Dante's Inferno last night.. and playing through that now as well. Infamous is still collecting dust.. but it's a great game.. just haven't had the motivation to play it lately. Then there's Dead Space - I'm on the last mission, Lost Planet about half way through, and.. Resident Evil 5 which will probably be the last game I'll even think about touching due to it's clunky and awkward controls. Would have loved it if they allowed us to walk and reload, as well as walk backwards.. These changes alone would make the RE5 godly. I will never understand why Capcom refuses to listen to fans. It furiates me so I'm kinda rebellious against Capcom now. And God of War 2 (part of the HD collection) - saving itfor later.

I need closure with a game so I'll always beat it. That said, I bought Shadow Of The Colossus in summer 2009 and haven't played it. I bought Bayonetta on Sunday but only played it once. I fully intend to play it more (loved what I played) but I've been busy as hell with school and life.

I got to hate Prince of Persia. So much, I made myself finish the game. Afterwards, i hung the game on the side of the House, and told the prince to get himself down.

Well, it pretty much is. And it(along with Sacred 2) show that PC games can work perfectly on consoles. I hope more developers decide to developer CRPGs and Hack & Slash ARPGs on consoles now that it's been proven to work.

Sacred 2, while not a technically great game, is a pretty fun hack and slash RPG(like Diablo and it's many clones). It's actually superior on consoles. I like it, but it isn't for everyone and it does have some problems. Don't expect it to be anything like Dragon Age though. Not a story-based game at all.

Currently Eternal Sonata and Valkyria Chronicles. Not sure if I'll be finishing VC (more to do with the fact that I'm not a huge strategy RPG person than anything to do with the actual game); might finish ES, but I've grown kinda tired of the dungeon design and how long they are. I'm kinda close to the end tho, so I still sorta wanna finish to see how it all turns out. :/

The Saboteur - I'm currently playing at the moment

Bayonetta - I'm also currently playing that too.

Saw - I'll get round to beating that game soon

God of War Collection - Haven't beat it yet but I'll get round to it

Tekken 6 - I got bored of the dullscenariocampaignmode.

Mini Ninjas - I'm at the end of it but I haven't felt like playing it.

Too many games to list out of the 74 PS3 games I own I think I've only finished about 26.

Games that I own (Current gen)...

- The Saboteur, GTA IV and MGS 4 (I like the three games, just lack the time to play more).

Current gen...

- Fallout 3 and GoW Collection (GoW II) - Both are owned by a friend, gotta get the games again in order to finish them.

That I ever played in any console...

- Well, there wouldn't be enough space here to list it... I'm 30 now, started playing at my father's PC and on Atari 2600 when I was 6 or 7 maybe... lets say the number should be by the hundreds of unfinished games in these 23 gaming years...

lol. I have the same problem. I am buying new games whenever I can(I have 18 games for my PS3 that I got for Christmas, and I'm getting Heavy Rain on release next week). Yet, I never complete games. So far, I've only beaten Haze, The Force Unleashed, Uncharted, and Uncharted 2 out of those 18. I also have Resistance almost completed, I'm just to addicted to Dragon Age to finish it.

It sucked because I played the first level, which was basically the demo when I played it a long time ago so I only bought it and played the "demo." :P I'm holding out for a God Of War Collection-version of this and ICO that has been lightly rumored.

Dante's Inferno- currently playing

Demon's Souls- got bored

God of War Collection- currently playing God of War II

inFamous- got lost in all the fall new releases and just never went back to it

LittleBigPlanet- got bored

MGS4- can't get past the beginning of Act 5  I've tried countless times but I just can't seem to find the right way to beat it. I either get killed by Frogs or I get destroyed by the Gekkos at the end.

Mirror's Edge- got stuck in some part during Act 6

Valkyria Chronicles- still sealed

Finished as in bored of them, or finished as in not getting platinum? I havn't beaten Valkyria Chronicles, but I havn't played it in months... ( I just keep getting sidetracked with other games ). That and Oblivion.

So I finish most games I get, but here are some notable failures in the past few years (ironically, most of them are incredibly highly rated, but I just couldn't get into them): 1) MGS4 - I know, it's crazy. But I hadn't played the previous three games, so those interminable cutscenes just couldn't hold my attention. I'm not excited by the "play 10 minutes, watch a movie for 15" design, of which this game has to be the epitome. 2) GTAIV - Another crazy one, right? I had a different complaint with this one, namely the awkward controls (a problem I've had with the series since GTAIII, actually). It was just frustrating for me, and I found the missions to be a lot of kind of mind-numbing side-questy type things (drive here, pick up item, drive there, etc.). 3) Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter - Just didn't click with me, I don't know why. Maybe I don't like lens flare. 4) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - It was too directionless for me, and I found the player development system to be kind of confusing. Didn't really succeed in drawing me into the world or the story.

Assassins Creed 2- Busy with other games

Borderlands- Same reason as AC2

Demon's Souls- Just got it yesterday and by the looks of it, it'll take me a LONG time to complete this one :P

Hahaha... let's just say I finished 3 games from my ps2, which was Kingdom Hearts 2, Xenosaga 3, and Klonoa 2. And as for my ps3, I haven't finished any yet, except if you count LittleBigPlanet. I really need to step up on the game.

I think they should do it for their bigger games. Not every game (Spiderman Collection! BOOO!) but their big hits like Ratchet, Jak, Sly, ICO and stuff like that. Get secondary devs to do it (like Bluepoint) and that gets them money and gets people working. This is such a good idea all around...

I completely agree. We don't need collections of games no one likes. Just the big boys. It'll also take away some of the whining about backwards compatibility if they put PS2 games on PS3 in HD.

Haha, love the fact that a lot of people have problems finishing games. I guess I'll leave the definition of 'finish' up to everyone. I tend to have problems finishing 1 playthrough of a game, let alone get a platinum.

And when I said Dirt 2 and Fifa10, it was more relative I guess. I dropped both games early because of some issues. With these two I meant I didn't invest the time in them that I know I could've and have done in previous sport/racing titles. It's a bit more arbitrary, but it leaves me with the same felling of unfulfillment (I don't think that is a word...) as the rest do.

I also love how most people listed AA and AAA games. haha

Star Wars the Force Unleashed - got a few hours into it. It was okay, I mean to finish it someday.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - really good game, but halfway through I got addicted to racing games. I'll defintely finish it some day.

Time Shift - played 10 minutes of it. Got stuck behind a chair.

Tomb Raider - played it for a few hours. Pretty disappointing, but I'll get back into it sometime.

Turok - got about two-thirds of the way through it, most frustrating piece of crap I've played in a long time. I have no idea why I stuck with it as long as I did.

I've got about a 17 or 18 game backlog, not including downloaded titles. They're a mix of PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PC games.

I have quite a few, out of my collection(PS3,360,Wii) haven't beat 9/40.

Assassin's Creed 1 - Just couldn't get into it.

Bayonetta - playing it now.

Dead Space - Got to the part where you have to shoot the asteroids, was having a blast, but that part pissed me off beyond belief I just gave up. And I was really enjoying the game :(

Tomb Raider Underworld - Eventually want to finish it, just sucks cause all great games came after it, started with Uncharted 2.

Condemned 2 - haven't even started it, feel guilty about this one, just never got in the mood to start it.

Gears of War 2 - just put it down for awhile and never returned to it.

Okami - got real far but a great game came out, can't remember which one and just never made my way back to it. Do intend to.

Super Mario Bros Wii - played it with my wife, got to the last level and we just kind of stopped.

Star Wars Force Unleashed - Want to finish

This also doesn't count the games I returned or sold because I hated them.

Just been getting beat down with great games coming out. After I finish bayonetta there will be heavy rain, then Final fantasy and God of War. So I dont see myself coming back to these in awhile.

PS3: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Steadily working through this - I'm about halfway through), Resistance: Fall of Man (Haven't played yet - but will complete once I finish Uncharted, Lair (Just bought it online - haven't received it yet).

Xbox 360: 23 games to complete in total. Just after I bought my 360 in 2007, I didn't have many games and so I completed each game at least twice - regardless if it was that great or not. Seeing many great deals on games resulted in this huge backlog.

I'm weird when it comes to my games. I can't even start a new game until I finished the one I am playin. I purchesed Bioshock 2 and Dantes Inferno and they are both still in the packages because I have not finished God of war collecters ed. The only games I didn't finish was Assians Creed 2 (I stopped playing cuz that game bored the hell out of me) and I never finished afro samurai, i couldn't get past the flame thrower, I played it 300 times, watched people on youtube beat it and I just couldn't do it, that and plus it was the worst game I have ever played in my life so I didn't care to finish anyway.

I don't understand why people say they have a "back-log" of games they purchased and haven't played.

Sure I have a few games I haven't finished, mostly because I was uninterested, the main couple being Prince of Persia and The Club, but other than that I never purchase a new game (or games) until I have finished playing the ones I have.

I am amazed at the serious over-consumption that goes on in the gaming world. People buy games just to have them and then end up playing them maybe 5 to 10 hours tops? Whats the point of spending $60 to $70 to purchase a game out of the gate if you're not going to play it until a year down the road? By then you could have got the game for half that price!

The only games I can really encourage early purchase on is games where you want to play the online multiplayer. An early purchase ensures that you get the most for your money (before the online for the game dies due to new multiplayer games being released).

To answer the question, I believe I have5 of my 21 games that I haven't finished, one of which I am currently playing (Uncharted 2), one of which I will be playing next (Fallout 3) and 3 of which I just could never get into (Prince of Persia, The Club, MGS4).

that's because I don't spend 60$ on games?? If you go to ebay you can find the same games unopened for 35-40$... The only reason I have a game on back up is I don't know when I'm going to beat my current game and if I beat it I want to have a new game ready... But as far as replay value goes...I always beat my games again a year down the road

I just don't have much self control when it comes to game purchases. I want to have the instant gratification of a hot game even if I don't have time to play them. I have an extreme backlog, like 200+.With that said, I never pay full price for games. A huge part of my library came from Gamestop B2G1 free sales.

Honestly, I don't see how in the world you guys find so much time for gaming. I work M-F 7:30-4:30. By the time I get home, gym, supper, and get on the comp, it's 7pm. Watch a little tv, talk on the phone, sometimes not even 30 mins to spare for gaming after cleaning up the kitchen and ironing. Gotta get in bed by 10:30. And I'm a single guy with no kids! On average, it takes me a month to beat a game with a short single player campaign. So that's12 games a year when I'm buying like 30-40 a year.I'm just not super good and can breeze through games.
