Just trying to do a tiny research to grasp a point I may have. I'll be making a rent and "used" games poll too, but in regards to this one, I buy on average 5 new games per year, but I have feeling I maybe buying more than normal this year and on. Thanks for the participation.
Oh I should have been more specific I think. I was thinking mainly PlayStation games. but also note the number for others systems too if you wish. Thanks.
I actually buy very few new titles. I buy for all platforms, PC included. But with a habit as bad as mine I just cant afford to buy them new unless there is a huge sale. On the flip side I trade everything I beat and buy used from Blockbuster and Ebgames. Around 40 - 50 games a year.
Well seeing how I pre-ordered 11 games already this year I am bound to purchase atleast 5-10 more I had to go with the 16-24...those are all for my PS3...
I also own a 360 I currently I plan on buying around 5 games this year for that...
Of course new games are released that I never planned on buying but I do anyway...so I imagine the grand total for this year will be in the 30-40 range...depending on whats released and what isnt...
wel I selected the 5-10 PS3 games option....since well I have almost reached the 5 games as it is....I am likely to get up to roughly 9 depending on whats released....I have expenses on other systems as well....plus I am gettin a new big wall mounted LCD TV for gaming.....that right there is equalivalent to about 50 games :P
In the past I maybe bought 1-4 games a year, but since I've had the PS3 since launch(11/17/06) I've bought 2. For this year I can tell you that I will be going crazy on games, but I will also be very picky due to the fact that the games are now $60 and I wont just be buying anything because of the name of the game.
I used to buy about 10-12 games per year for PS2, PSP, XBOX and the occasional GBA game (about half of which were greatest hits/platinum hits). But now with the price of games shooting up and the number of games I want increasing, I decided to try out Gamefly. I'm really satisfied that I did, because I play my PSP much more often now that I constantly have something new to play on it.

Sorry about that chubear700, I voted before reading... I buy well over 25, but my PS purchases are much more conservative. I've already bought 25 games this year not counting downloadables, but of those only three have been PS (two PS3 and one PS2), and I doubt I'll reach that number of PS titles by the end of the year. Sorry if that messes with your research, but if you poll based on all systems and add a 100+ option I'll be there!
There are a umber of 360 games I want. I plan on buying a PS3 around summer. I want Resistance, VF5, Motorstorm, and a few others. So probably 5-10 PS3 games depending on my financial situation.

I typically buy about 5 or so games, depends though. If PS3 had 12 killer apps tommorow I'd buy all 12 lol!! I'm a pretty huge sucker for Playstation. Normally I augment my PS2 library while waiting for the new installments/killer apps. (PC fan too)
On average probably around 3-4 during a good month, this month for example I bought Crackdown and VF5 so far, but this recent drought has been bad. I am also getting married and she has put my finances on lockdown unfortunately.
