I think it's it's heavily underrated by games and some critics, people were dissapointed because 2 to 3 wasn't was much of a leap as it was from 1 to 2, but seriously, how much can you improve a perfect game? Both Uncharted 2 and 3 deserve 10/10 in my opinion.
I think it suffers because you can't help but compare it to Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 2 is a lot better. Uncharted 3 is still an exceptionally good game, it just isn't a patch on Uncharted 2.x-2tha-z
Pretty much my thoughts. At first, wasn't please with the game at all. The aiming killed it for me. When it was patched, I started to enjoy the game a lot more. Not to say that it didn't have its fair share of problems, but it was a good entry for the franchise.

Uncharted 2 metacritic score = 96
Uncharted 3 metacritic score = 92
Uncharted 1 metacritic score = 88
I completely agree with those scores.

Ditto. Uncharted3 doesn't have nothin' on Uncharted2. The beginning in U3 you're a little kid running from pedophiles, in U2 you're climbing a train that's falling off a cliff..., must I say more?[QUOTE="jokerz1979"]Not my favorite game by a long way !!! Just curiousBH14

Basically sums up my feelings on the subject too. I enjoyed Uncharted 3 and honestly thought it was the worth the wait. My only wish is that it lasted a bit longer:(
The only thing I dislike about the game is the fact that there's not a single bonus to unlock for completing the game like the first two games had, and that all of the new playable character skins are reserved for online multiplayer only. I mean I hate playing games online and I just wanted to play as that evil old British lady Katherine Marlowe in single player.
But other than that it's still a good game, just as good as the first and second in my opinion (can't comment on the Vita one as I haven't played it). I just wish the game had bonuses like the first two. :(
I'm someone new to the series (I bought a PS3 to play this and some other "exclusives" and well.... so I can *win* any "console war" argument :D) , so no disappointment about 2 being so great and no built in love for the characters\story. I say overrated by only by a little bit, mainly because of lack of replayability. The gameplay/story was not good enough to make we want to come back and do it again. Not even once, not even certain sections. I did like the two person multiplayer mode but not the regular multiplayer modes.
My recomindation to folks who have yet to buy it -- get it cheap when you can and have a blast.

Those were epic, especially the cruise ship.

The cruise ship was very cool, but that whole part in the game was completely irrelevant to the story... Seemed like they created a cool moment, and said sh!t... It's no secret that I thought Uncharted 2 was nothing special in the slightest, but I will say this: Somehow the developers managed to create a level WORSE than the Tenzen Ice cave level. I always use that level as a prime example of what NOT to do in a game... Naughty dog amplified everything that was wrong with that mission and gave us "man wanders in the desert for over 10 minutes".

It isn't man wandering in desert for OVER 10 minutes unless you were walking in a circle. The desert mirage stage (walking+movies) is about 8 minutes and it is done to show how he was stranded for long time in the desert.
Firstly, I do like this game.
But I think the games overated for a couple of reasons:
it is TOO linear and I find most of the single player consits of NEARLY falling off ledges and feel these platforming elements are not devloped enough.
Controls aren't polished quite enough, I quite often find the character kick jumping off a wall instead of climbing a ledge or jumping instead of taunting etc.
This said great graphics and in depth multiplayer.
UC2 single player was cooler.(war torn country and the train section are great)
I like this game more for the multiplayer anyway.
But I would give this game an 8 maximum. Still a good score but 10/10's it isn't. Mainly because the platforming elements (a major part of the game) are more a walkthrough than a game element.
