I'm just curious because my PS3 broke about a week ago and I'm waiting for the second one to come in. How many PS3's have you had that broke? I just had the one that was broken, I'll be on my second PS3 when it comes back.

PS1 #1 - Dead on arrival PS1 #2 - overheated to the point that I had to set the thing upside down in order to get enough airflow to keep it playing. Then on top of that, it ruined about half my library (scratching up the game discs until they were unplayable in any console) before finally biting the dust PS1 #3 - DualShock Edition, and sorely missing the Gameshark Pro I was enjoying prior to this model. Worked OK, but still nowhere near as trustworthy as anything else I've owned. Was about to replace it, but the PS2 had just come out in the market, and I had enough $$$ to buy one at the time. SOOO.... PS2 #1 - Started doing the same thing as PS1 #2. At the time, finally decided "enough was enough" and sold it off. Didn't want or had a need to be around another PS2 for a good couple years, and the GameCube kept me mostly satisfied, until a good number of games I'd wanted were starting to show up ONLY on the ps2... PS2 #2 - Online pack, so I had the adapters needed there. It was eventually getting to the point that the laser lens needed monthly cleaning... then bi-weekly, and then it turned to weekly. Finally brought it in for service. Repairman's report? "On the last day of testing, the disc drive shattered to pieces. I'd have never believed something like this was possible if it didn't happen before me." PS2 #3 - my current, mod-chipped unit. Had it reinforced with additional volt regulator mods. To think that about $5USD worth of capacitors and parts on a v7 ps2 would make the thing last longer than any other Sony product that's ever been in my house (PlayStations included). And now with the PS3... PS3 #1 - didn't even last the initial 30 days of return time before the thing already ruined a brand new copy of MGS4. A **** BLURAY DISK AND IT ATE IT LIKE AN ETHIOPIAN KID ON METH! PS3 #2 - I bring it home and it was already screeching its ass off in fan noise and overheating at the XMB, much less at any game I tried running on it. PS3 #3 - GPU died. Finally had to break down and call Sony. $150 later... PS3 #4 arrived. Works, but hot like a **** But given that it's a 60gig with actual BC instead of these neutered pieces of **** that Sony is trying to pass off to everyone now, I suppose that is the trade-off that I'll have to accept. But I expect to call them back and ask at least why it's running so **** hot.codezer0
you obviously don't treat your systems well, like really you thought it was a good idea to put a console upside down for more airflow? yeah cause that would be good for the disc...
l have had every sony system with not a hitch, all working perfectly still
