how many PS3's do you think will be sold by the end of the year?

so let's say there are 9 million out in homes now i think there will be 10 million more sold be the end of the year about 20 million sold in all give or take.

Some good games may have come out in 2007, most certainly; though none were really big-name hardware-movers.

The games coming out this year coupled with an inevitable price-drop and it's plausible.

apparently the PS3 will outsell the 360 user install base in Europe this summer already. Japan, its already curtains for teh 360, that thing cant sell at all over there. In the usa though, 360 is doing very well, it'll take some time before the PS3 over takes it here. But PS3 is selling well here too now. I think the fact that the PS3 is selling equally well in all 3 major territories is a sign that it will overtake the 360 in the long run. The fact that very few japanese developers want to develop for it is a long term weakness for the 360. The titles just wont sell over there. I see the PS3 taking 2nd place behind the Wii with the 360 in a close 3rd place because of strong north american sales. We'll see....

overall i think the PS3 will sell 10-15 million units this year worldwide.... so overall it'll be around 20-24 million total since launch. Not a bad 2 year start... As the price keeps coming down (and more and more games come out) its just gonna look more attractive as time goes on. More people will be buying HDTVs over the next 5 years and theyre gonna wanna play games and watch movies right? The PS3 is the best option as far as that is concerned.... sorry Blu Ray is better than Divx like Xbox Live movie rentals (lame.)

Well so far only about 5 million have been sold worldwide. With MGS4, DMC4, FFXIII and Versus XIII, Last Remnant, GT5 and all these games, you'll see the number go up really fast and really high.SPD_WeBmAsTaH

My guess is 20-25million. Not past the 360 but in 2009 it will be. But then again by then there will be a new Xbox cause when you're still working with DVDs...
