I'm a 30+ gamer and the reasons you mentioned are why I've always resistedbuying a headset/mic. When on line and where possible I always disable the chat option. There are more 30+ years players out there than you think. I'd say there's even a few 40+Liams
no doubt...i dont even chat when i play my 360 online, i just set everything on mute....unless im playing with my buddies, then its a private chat.....with regards to PS3, im just not going to get a mic.
i was playing COD4 this weekend and i have a headset, well it picks up everything. My 2 kids were in the background"being kids" and some one said shut the darn kids up!!!But you hear music, cell phones ect ,ect in yhe background.I like playing online and i would like to get along with everyone! PS3 ROCKS!!!vj226966
i was playing COD4 once, and one guy's little kid yelled something that i didnt understand, then the guy went, "i already told you no Gaven" then the lil kid says another thing, and the guy says "thats great Gaven now go watch cartoons"

im 17 BTW :PActually according to The ESA the average age of a gamer is 33, with the average age of most frequent game buyers being 38, and in 2007 24% of Americans over the age of 50 played video games.I think most gamers fit into the age group of 20-30, which I fit into...

Wow, if that is accurate I find that suprising. Like I mentioned earlier, I am 29, and my girlfriend continually tells me I am too old to be playing games

34 here! and my wife plays also! she is 33. age means nothing when you love to play games.
I will be 31 in another month. I love playing games and I like the social aspect of playing online. Like finding out where people are from add me anybody that is mature and has the games I have. UT3, COD 4, Warhawk, Orange Box and a slew of other games.

"Bust my chops"... nice! :D
I'm 35. I think that a lot of younger gamers don't realize that video games have been around for a long time. I still remember playing Pong, and sometime after that my parents bought an Atari 2600. As long as video game developers come out with games that interest me, I'll still be playing.
My uncle is almost 30 and I think he plays games alot. Not Sure if he still does.

Well..........hahahaha wait until you are married.... I´m 31 and married and my wife does NOT like video games..... I play at night.....with BIG HEADPHONES.......sometimes until 3AM.......as long as I keep working and driving my kids to school.... I can play.......
32 year-old checking in. I work with a guy who has to be in his 50s. He was giddy talking about COD 4. And I think it's sadder when gamers are young. Nothing more dissapointing to see a 16-year-old kid playing Friday and Saturday nights. Who should get a life?
