[QUOTE="MattyJ78"][QUOTE="CellAnimation"][QUOTE="RandomTask221"]Actually according to The ESA the average age of a gamer now is 33, with the average age of most frequent game buyers being 38, and in 2007 24% of Americans over the age of 50 played video games.I think most gamers fit into the age group of 20-30, which I fit into...

Wow, if that is accurate I find that suprising. Like I mentioned earlier, I am 29, and my girlfriend continually tells me I am too old to be playing games

Well..........hahahaha wait until you are married.... I´m 31 and married and my wife does NOT like video games..... I play at night.....with BIG HEADPHONES.......sometimes until 3AM.......as long as I keep working and driving my kids to school.... I can play.......
I really feel for you older gamers that get harrassed by girlfriends/wives for gaming. I guess I'm pretty fortunate, I'm 24 going on 25 soon and engaged and my fiancee is really cool when it comes to my gaming. She likes to play Wii mostly with the exception of GH3 which I have for ps3, but she doesn't play that often cept with her GH3 marathons sometimes. When she's not playing and I want to she will go out of her way to allow me time to game, what a woman :). It gets better, the best is when she'll bake for me while I'm gaming :).

Well its not bad, if you grow with a gen that games the same as you. And my family "threw the younger ones" games alot now. Thats the main reason the gaming age is so much older now on average. Because the time line has people who have played since small, that are now are age. So its a generation that grew up with arcades at their peak, and home systems. In the 80s thow, "what were adults to us" did not grow up gaming like we did.
[QUOTE="gruoch1"]I'm 25, so I'm getting there, which makes me kind of sad... no offense.adumar94
Getting there is better than not getting there.
Or being there ;)
I'm not there yet (25 next month), and I hate gaming during holidays due to the increase in whining kids
Hello for everyone!!!!! as I mentioned before, my wife does not like (and understand) games, but for me thats one of my passions since the atari 2600 era. Right know I´m a 31 year old gamer with a great job (M.D. Internal Medicine) and the greatest family. 3 boys. ages 5, 2 and almost 1........ I play ridge racer 7 with my kids (they love it). who is suitable for children, UNDER ANY CIRCUMNSTANCE I DONT ALLOW THEM TO WATCH when I play violent games........I love to pley COD4 and RFOM but only when my kids are sleeping (and my wife is not complaining!)....
The great thing about being an old (?) gamer...(most people would agree) is that there is nothing more pleasant, to truly enjoy a game bought with your own money and HARD WORK.......when I was a kid I got games from my parents......but later in life I could finally got my own stuff with my money........Theres nothing better than that!!!!!!!

whinning kids and camper noobs which ruins the game. i'm taking a break for week waiting school to start so i could play in peace. 23 yo btw
I'm not pushing thirty yet, 25 so far and it's the primary reason why my mic is resting alone next the console.
Unless I'm playing with friends, I don't bother much. Sometimes you come across a well respected and mature team. They are usually in clans but those folks are rare.
It's a joy to play and communicate when it happens. Really enchants the experience.
Well, I'm 28(pushing 30) and married. I have been playing videogames my whole life and I see a trend of the games getting better and better. I have to say, in my personal history of gaming, this is the greatest era we are living in.
My wife doesn't really care if I play games or not, as long as I find time for her and put my wife first, it's all good. I usually play about 2 hours a night and I'm addicted to Oblivion; GOTY.
I'm 31 and you do come across an imature gamer every once in awhile. It comes with the territory of playing online.
