how much longer until an actual good game arrives

With the PS3, everyone is always talking about, "just wait, the games will come out"

What I want to know is when? All I forsee is maybe 2-3 games that look promising, and chances are they will be delayed.

In the past, before anything came out, I thought it was realistic that the PS3 could actually hold its own vs. the wii and 360. And I am a big sony fan. But it seems fairly obvious that Sony has little to no shot of winning this war, the way their console has performed.

Being launched a year later meant that the ps3 launch would need to be successful to win over remaining people who had not jumped on microsofts wagon.

about 5 months ago. It was called resistance. Motorstorm and Virtua Fighter 5 have also been released along with a plethora of other titles.

But yes, there isn't a plentiful bounty of games yet.  No system ever does this early in the lifecycle and everyone is being way too hard on sony.  Yes, there are things that could have been better, but just look what they are delivering soon.  PSN Home, LIttle BIg Planet, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, etc. etc.  It keeps getting better and better. 

Also, anyone who complains about a PS3 not having games but doesnt say the same about the Wii, is a hippocrit.

There were many good games like Fight Night, Oblivion, Kameo, Condemned, GRAW, Project Gotham, Call of Duty 2, Dead or Alive just to name a few. And they were all out before end of March.

Resistance is great. Motorstorm, Virtua fighter, and Oblivion are also good. There are plenty of mediocre multiplats like FEAR, R6V, and Saints Row to rent through summer until the good games come.

Meh, what I like about Sony's style is they keep the older consoles going for a while so you get the best from your system so I can still live with my PS2 til some newer games come out. Unlike my damn Xbox!!! lasted 4 friggin years!!! the PS1 lasted 11 and both consoles had games officially stopped for them on the same year :evil:donwoogie

The PS1 lasted 6 years. 11 is the number of years it was available for purchase in a little shop right outside the Sony HQ.

The 360 will probably last just as long as the PS3

Waaah waah waaaah. Stop crying, buy a 360 and play all 6 of the games worth playing. 

What would have made all the whiners happy? 50 exclusive launch titles? A built in dishwasher? A cruise missile satellite launching system? Complain complain complain. 

Resistance is great. Motorstorm, Virtua fighter, are great, and Oblivion is frickin amazing.

Fight Night, Oblivion, Resistance, VF5, GT:HD, F1, and Call of Duty 3 are all out on the PS3.  Those match each of the categories you mentioned.  I still don't see the difference between launches.  Same story, different console. 

Man the great titles are here already, Resistance, a great FPS, Oblivion, AWESOME, F1 racing, great racing sim, Motorstorm, fun racing game, NBA, NCAAB, MLB, NHL, Rainbow 6, Splinter Cell, Marvel Alliance, these are all great titles.

Coming up: Heavenly Sword, Lair, GTA IV, MGS 4, Killzone II, Spiderman 3, NBA 2k8, Madden 08, NCAAF 08, NHL 2k8, and NASCAR 08.

So really just watch the PS3 go, it'll come out on top.

I will just leave you with this question, would you rather have sony have a good console who took the time to get it right and have some good games but not a huge amount(even though its only been 5 months which is not a long time) or xbox 360 which you could be on your 3rd xbox not being able to play some great games.  Its not that bad its been 5 months things are not going to change overnight so get over it

 Don't feel bad i completely agree with you except im looking foward to more than just 2-3 games. I don't use my PS3 for anything more than a DVD player right now as Resistance is just boring to me now that i've played it so much. Wii and 360 are no better really i have em both too. It just takes forever for them to get anything done in the game industry nowadays and i think that is hurting all the consoles as a whole. I remember how you could go to Toysrus after Super Nintendo/Sega came out and spend all day trying to figure out which game you were going to try and get your parents to buy. Now im on my own and i feel like 90% of games nowadays aren't even worth the money or time. They are going to have to try and find some kind of balance between the extra power games have today and the time it takes to make em.

exactly. that argument is so anoying. even if it was out on another console for a while doesnt mean that it was for us. these games are still new to me.

Well, the highest rated game out so far is oblivion, and that is on other consoles too.

The best i could say is that it just takes a little time for a console to become even better.

but soon you will be griping about the PS4 and ITS games when they come in about 4 or 5 years. jeeze.
