Im thinking sometime in the late summer time/early fall. I don't expect it to drop a huge amount though.
The PS3 will get a price drop after PS4 launches next Jan 2014. PS4 will debut November 2013. Sony can give the PS3 one last Xmas season. Then cut the price after the launch rush of PS4.
I really think they will avoid price drops for a while untils sells get very bad. I think what we will see in the future are same prices but bigger bundles. Right now they have new systems with large hard drives and 2 games for $269. Probably will see the same price, but they will add a few games.
We all know that the PS4 is coming this holiday season, so its only logical that a price drop is coming. With rumors of the PS4 being priced between $299.99 to $499.99 it would only make sense to drop the PS3 below $200 no? I'm guessing after the price of the PS4 and preorders for the system start. Its gonna happen soon but newegg put out ebay daily deal for $229.99 with free shipping and no tax for the 500gb super slim ps3 bundle with assassins creed 3. I bought one. Sold out though. 1,000 ps3s
Right now, Newegg is selling the the 250gb PS3 (uncharted 3 GOY + Dust 514 Voucher bundle) for $219.99 (no tax and free shipping). Also, they are selling the 250gb PS3 (Need for Speed Most Wanted + Burnout Paradise bundle) for $239.99.
Last night, I bought the the 500gb PS3 (Assassins Creed 3 bundle) for $229.99 from Newegg. Amazon is slacking and still selling that bundle for $299.99. Hey Amazon! Time for you to drop the price!
Maybe in a couple months, you could see $200 permanent price tag for some bundles. Black Friday should have great deals (guessing $150-175 bundles) but that is a while away. I highly doubt we will see anything like "$99-125 slim ps2s prices" because the ps3 does lot more.
[QUOTE="Stinger78"]GameStop sells a PS3 with 5 games for $229. If you don't own one, that is a great deal.Mrmedia01
Thats for a USed fat 40GB PS3 POS, with 5 old crap games. That 40GB kills the deal.
If it works, why's it a POS? It's also easy to find a cheap SATA hard drive that's a lot bigger. Either way, it sounds like you already own a PS3, so you wouldn't be interested. I mentioned it for people who wanted an option for a PS3 at a reasonable price.About 6 months ago, I bought a 500GB SuperSlim PS3 Assassin's Creed III bundle for $219.99 with free shipping and no tax from ebay/newegg. I got like $7 back in ebay bucks from the deal as well so I got it like for $212.99. I have seen plenty of deals around on PS3 now lately. I would hurry up and get a PS3 now because there are so many great games that came out especially recently and the past couple years.
